Jay ,I am old-timer and simpleton ,and prefer for simple things simple ways .

For moldmaking I prefer to phisically place part on it`s place ,the safest way ,IMHO .

I learned it long ago working with different programs and having issues .

WCS of Mastercam also not free from them ,why to risk ?

I can see not using it that much in some cases with mold work I guess.

But I know you do a good job and get it done.

I tried WCS couple of times and it is a good tool but kinda overkill for me .

Why on earth for milling electrodes or inserts and being a fan of small programs specific for one operation and one main

assembly or total geometry file for a project I need WCS ?

I keep it off all the time.

And how much time it takes to translate from view to view all my geometry or make rotate +translate ?

I even made hot keys for this

Alt + < translate ,Alt + > rotate and Alt + ? mirror .

It takes 10 seconds and it is hard as a rock (bullet-proof ) !

So I remais the oldtimer .

Making some other type of work I may reconsider WCS ,but my specific simply do not needs it .

Now ,regarding issues :

I had them in translating geometry and in mirroring .

I enjoy being able to verify a COMPLETE part without translating anything, anywhere, at anytime. Translating has caused more issues for me.

I simply have no such complexity .

If I have it from time to time ,I can transform STL .

I do not say it is a bad tool ,I only say I do not want to use it in my specific work .

Winnie this all good ,I too do not use every tool in the osftware.I use what is needed. just like your self.

 

Me and james do diffrent types of work and find this to be great tool.
