File Get at start up slowww!!!

Everytime I get my first file in the morning it takes a 100 years for the window to pop up. But after that its fine. Any help would be appreciated.

Its always the first (file get) at startup.

Last time i've the same problem.

Network AND harddrive.

Maybe the windows-register needs an cleanup.

I'm waiting for an new computer and for so long i can live with it

I have the same problem and it seems to involve one of the network drives that has been mapped not being accessible.If all the mapped drives can be read, there is very little waiting.

I've also noticed that a cd in the drive will slow things down.

what do yo u mean by mapped . how do you undo it

From Windows Explorer, you can go to the Tools Menu and select "Map network drive". Put simply, this lets Windows access networked drives easier. From there you can also "Disconnect network drive".

If your thinking of playing with these, I would run this by your IT guys first if you have some!

Thinking about it, here's a tip for guys with slower computers; the Get window can take a relatively long time to open if you have a lot of MC9 files in the initial directory that you look in (i.e. C:MCAM9MILLMC9).

 

What you can do is move these files into a sub-folder, so that the folder you first look into has only a few MC9 files (or none at all). Then navigate to the folder/file you want. That helped out with the speed of my Get window quite a bit.
