Is there any difference between surface-finish-contour and surface-rough-contour?

Yes, there is, according to my previous experiences. I prefer finish contour. The way it generates toolpath. Many times I noticed difference in surface finish.

BTW this has been covered earlier.

I always use Surfinish FINISH Contour.

Learnt the hard way. The only differance I can think of is the caculation process.

Once upon a time I used Surface Rough Contour on a job for the life of me I couldn't get the toolpath NOT to gouge.

Exactly the same geometry ,boundry's, stepovers, tolerances, everything the same exept Surface Finish Contour and presto NO gouge.

So now every Contour Toolpath is Finish.

Back in V8, you could not get surface finish contour to step down verticle walls but now they both perform about the same, and I've never had any problems using rough contour to finish with if things are set correctly.
