Increasing memory on a Mazatrol 32 control. Possible?

We're in the process of getting a 1995 Mazak 1000 with the Mazatrol 32 control set up. We recently found that the machine has only 46k of memory available for NC programs. I has 128k but its all but taken up for the machine to just turn on. Is there any 'quick and dirty way' to increase memory on this thing? Anyone ever have to deal with this?

A '95 with an M32?? Thought they we're all M+ by then.

Anyway, I think you can but its a hardware thing ( I can't remember that far back! ). Call Mazak applications and they can tell you.

I'm not a Mazak guy, but I think most likely it's a parameter setting.

I bet it has much more memory build in that you can use.

You'd have to talk to Mazak people about it.

If someone gave you this parameter sett. it'd be pretty much as if someone gave you a sim code to upgrade MC level 1 to 3

No this is not a parameter feature option.

 

I would also like to know if anybody has purchased some sort of memory expansion for an M32 control.

 

This control will drip feed any size of EIA program you could ever want to use. It is unusual to fill to capacity with Mazatrol programs but this does happen on occasion.

I got a quote from mazak to upgrade our

M32 controls with more memory

if memory serves me correctly, memory was $100+ per meg in its early days. I think mazak is still charging those prices. we use the leaky fauset method also

There is one big disadvantage about drip feeding

you cant start anywhere but the beginning of the

program. I havent found a way to start in the middle of the program wether I was drip feeding or running from the control.

We run a ethernet connection to our M32 don't remember how much the card was but it works really well. We are even able to restart in the middle of the program bye using a n value.

Gouging B@stards is right. Must be a special breed of folk that get into those lines business. I got their 1,977meters right here.

 

We'll just do the drip feed thing. We do alot of that here anyway as it is. Thanks to all for the insight!!!
