New ATI driver works!

Good news boys,

 

It seems new ATI drivers works well with mastercam any workaround applied (i.e. turn down graphic acceleration slide). Would you confirm the same on you machine?

yes. the new driver worked for me, but only on a desktop computer. I have a notebook with a mobility radeon 9700 and i still have that problem...

Yup, this took care of the hardware acceleration issue on my card

 

ATI X800SE

 

Yet to be seen whether it address all of the ATI problems but it certainly addressed that issue.

These graphics are supose to be the fastest yet or so I've heard...

That DLL that Henk linked to is the OpenGL library that shipped with Windows NT4.0 (that's 1996)...so like OpenGL 1.2-era. Should Mastercam X use new features from, say, OpenGL 1.5, then you'll run into some problems. Also, I'm not sure where Mastercam X begins looking for the DLL; its install dir or system32. If they explicitly look in system32, it'll do nothing to have that DLL in there. In that case, you could overwrite your existing one with the the one Henk linked to. But if you're running something other than Windows NT4.0, I don't recommend it, unless Mastercam is the only OGL app on your computer. Just something to keep in mind.

Not sure on integrated but laptop is a only a radeon 9700 64mb. Its a standard on my gateway. It totally sucked with 9 before that dll made it way better. Can acually see surf norms and chain direction without shutting the accel completely off.

Does anyone have this file and can email it to me. Have a computer here at work with a ati 7000 series card running win 2000 pro that is freaking out. I cant get on the FTP from here. Any assistance would be appreciated.

With a FireGL you will not need it.

 

The FireGL series is a capable card.

As far as the driver goes, I am using the certified NX driver for that card.
