O/T Would you say OK about a OKK machine?

Was informet that the company was looking into this machine manufacture and was wondering if anyone has anything Good/Bad to say about there machines. It is a OKK Horizontal HP5005 model.

It is going to be a production machine for 6061 Aluminium, alot of drilling with some long stringy chip's.

OKK are very good machines.

Id have to say upper mid range as far as accuracy

and quality.

I have always heard really good things about OKK but have never ran one but this was from good machinists and I would take there word for it.

YES OKK is a very good machine we have had ours for 19 years and it is still running great.

we have a tool shop in town and they have had okks

for a lomg time.they use them primaraly on large mold bases. there accurate and a good work horse.

I hear they are at the same level(accuracy, reliability...) as a Mori, so it's a safe bet

I use to program and run a OKK VM7.Great machine, accurate and solid.

It had a BT50 Big spindle 13000 RPM.

I used a 72mm udrill in P20.

Down to a 1mm ball nose.

Nothing bad to say about OKK from me

OKK verticals are top notch. we have about 20 of them. Their horizontals suck in my opinion. We have 2 of them and they are always broke down. We quit buying the horizontals. But we continue to buy the verticals. 2 VM7's and a VM900 this year. But you guys are doing aluminium, they might work for you.
