no cut found?

Hi everyone, I'm having trouble generating a finish tool path. The part is all roughed out & everytime I try to generate the finish tool path I get this pop up {No cut found-check tool, cut depths or roll tool at all edges}. I press ok & the next pop up {Unable to determine a valid maching zone- no tool path created}?

I'd sure appreciate some feed back.

i've seen this if I'm trying to create a surfacing cut with a boundary in the top view and i accidentally have my cplane set to front or side.

Can you upload file to the ftp site? Or give better description of what you are doing?

I've seen this message a few times; it's always been something that I've done wrong. I'm not saying you're doing anything wrong, but that's been my experience.

 

Check all your parameters, boundaries, check and drive surfaces, tool diamters, etc. I can't offer a much better guess than this without more info on your project.

If u can email it i'll take a look at it. Like Smit said, that is what usually happens and it's some small I just overlooked.

I'm with Smit. Everytime I see this, it's because my parameters were wrong. Kinda like setting your depth limits to Z5. Max and Z4. Min when the part is only 2 inches tall. You can see why there would be no cut found. This is just a simple example though.

 

There was another thread a few weeks back that listed other things to check. Try a search.

Sometimes the boundry freaks out.

Try center, outside or none and if need be

use some other way

to keep the tool inside your Cut.

Thanks guys, you were right. The amount left for my drive & check surfaces were wrong. I had to reset them so that the check surface was smaller then my drive amount.

I'm filling the chip bin once again.
