Okuma 4020 osp Mill Question

Hey All I am working on an Okuma Mill, does any one know about adding more memory?

Currently I can not load a program larger than 60k. DNC is a not the way I want to do parts all the time.

You can add more memory just call your distributor.

okuma memory is exspensive to upgrade you can store programs in BB0: or MD0: depending on your machine.

Even though he can store larger programs in BB0: or MD1:, he still cannot run programs bigger than he can now, unless he gets more memory. You are right, it is expensive.

one warning even if you get it in the memory it may not load on the front side okuma has 2 memorys program storage capacity and program run capacity

Have you tried setting the program to "Large"?

On the program select page,on the right hand side,you can cursor over to the file size.

The default setting os normal,try putting it to Large.

o.s. how much memory does your machine have?

Do you have the buffer option?

My Machine has around 49k of memory.

I could not find the "Large" soft key.

I am new to this machine, so be patient

it is not a soft key it is a parameter change are you on the 5020, 700, 7000, or u control

i dont have the book here but you should be able to find it in yours operation metods A, B, and others. with discriptions

to get your prog in. goto edit & select edit "direct" this will let you load a program direct to edit.

 

in Auto pselect, then cursor to the right side options change from method A to B or S (watch the grey areas change) B & S are for large programs. You can also select large from the F soft keys.

My mistake, I have the E100M control.

I don't think that yours has this feature.
