X2 Default File/Open Data Paths Not Working

I'm using X2 on XP Pro, I have set my default Data Paths in Settings/Configuration/Files/Data Paths

When I go to open any file: Parasolid for example it looks in the last directory, not the one I set for Parasolids. Is there a fix for this? What happened to the little options box with the two check marks in it?

Yes, this is still broken.

 

It sets your MCX directory fine but the "others" still do not work properly

It's tricky since it's quite non-standard to have the File/Open dialog change folders on you automagically just because you've changed the 'files of type' dropdown to something else.

For example, if you open a SolidWorks file, then open a Mastercam file, and then you want to open another SolidWorks file, what do you expect to happen in the File/Open dialog? Since a Mastercam file was opened last, the MCX extension will be the default and the folder will be the Mastercam files folder. If you switch from .MCX to .SLDPRT do you expect the folder to change too?

I understand this is different from MR2 as now it has the text recognition working again(which is great).

If it is not meant to work that way, then can someone explain to me why the option is the in the config to set it to look in those folders?

My boss often looks through lots of different file types when quoting jobs. I have heard him wish for this.

Don't care for the all files default, but would like to have the paths directed to assigned files for different file types. Like MR2, if it worked once it can't be too hard to make it work again.

I just switched to X2 yesterday and I already miss this function. PLEASE put it back.

I would hate for the file to change when I change the file type. I always have more then one type of file in a job folder. Having the option would be the best for everyone.

 

+1 on the all files default though. Or maybe there could be an extra button so it is easier to get to.
