Editor error - cimco

Hi all.

After hitting "post selected operations" instead of automatically opening .nc file I get this message window:

 

Editor error

Warning - error opening c:mcamx2millncop#1

 

If I ignore it and open editor (cimco) manually the posted file is there...

 

Any thoughts?

I only asked that because sometimes if I try to save something that I have open with another program it won't let me.

It's rare but it happens.

Jeff, tried both ways with no luck.

It does everything it's supposed to except it won't auto open my posted nc file...and the stupid error message...

Can you re-install Cimco?

Does the Cimco disc have a "repair" option when you put it in your drive?

 

This is the only option that I can think of.

Rename the CIMCOEDIT.EXE to cedit.exe and remap X2 the editor to cedit under Start/Exit in Configuration.

Why do you think it happened?

I did uninstall my mcx mr2 directory today since X2 is working well for me and got rid of some files in there...

Is any one using the Mastercam editor?

I was using Mastercam until today when it became tangled with the same control file that SW uses

Deep in the Bowels of .msi files.

I tried to run "Repair" off the disc but it keeps failing.

 

Where can I get the Cimco editor?

Did you find were you can get the Cimco Editor from..? Mine has stopped working on upload & download and I can't find my MasterCAM9 disc to repair or replace... Damn, why is it not on my MCX disc...????

Cimco Edit 5.0 is freaking awesome, but its not free.

I don't want to have to pay for it... I was happy with the OEM version in MasterCAM.... Any idea were I can download the OEM version from..?

You should be able to get a new V9 disc from your

dealer. I looked on the Mastercam download page

and all they have is the maintenance files

so that won't help.

 

The gcode backplot feature in CE5 is well worth

the money, once you start using it, you can't do without it.

Thanks for looking... Guess I can ask In house for a new disc... Only problem there is I can't load programs into my CNC machines until it arrives... Wait scratch that, you are right Cimco 5.0 is real nice, Just D/L and unzipped it. I guess I will use that for the trial then go back to the OEM version when I get another disc. What is the cost of 5.0..? Any idea..?

I have a copy of the last o.e.m. updated version I dll'ed from Cimco and run in V9. Ver4.40.xxx I think. Approx 10 megs.

I you like I can send it to you.
