Difference between download and Cd

Is there any difference in the downloaded software than the software on the cd. The cd says it is a different version and I need to uninstall before using the cd?

Im sure that the downloaded version would be the most up-to-date.

I guess I failed to mention MCX2 software.

To my knowledge, there shouldn't be any differences in the actual program. The download didn't contain sample files (separate download), videos and other misc type items. Otherwise the download would have been huge. You shouldn't be missing any CAD/CAM features though.

It also does not contain the install of .net 2.0 required to run X2

Check your Add Remove Programs utility in

the Control Panel.

You may see a version of Mastercam there that is not really installed on your machine. If that is the case you'll have to do this

and then reinstall.

My download did contain the .net 2.0.

I know when I downloaded the release off the Beta side, there was a seperate link for the .net

 

I "assume" or thought I read somewhere it was not included to keep the size.

 

Could be wrong however.

I completely uninstalled Mcx2 and reinstalled off of disk did not solve the problems I was having. Tech support from cnc software suggested running the repair function on the net2 install. this solved the problem.(Problem: I had been working in MCX2 closed out of it then could not reopen MCX2 or any of the prior versions of MC).
