Two sims on one system?

We have two licenses for Mastercam. One license has more features than the other. Can we use either sim on one computer? More specifically can we use one sim then pull it and use another when the need arises?

I believe so, it unlocks codes in the installed

software.

Yeah we change our sims around quite often if needed

Just make sure the "Date and Time" are correct on the PC's and you should not run in to a problem. If not it could lock the SIM and require an unlock code to get going again.

Yes, but you do need to shutdown Mastercam in between.

I have a quick question on this one.... Is there any way to use 2 hasps simaltaneously? We just got a hasp with verisurf and then have the Mcam hasp. I keep swapping them out when playing with our laser and making programs for the machines. I can see others using the verisurf hasp later on down the road, so I can't see them ever being combined into one hasp if that would even be an option. My best bet is having the IT dept get me a hub so I can swap them on my desk instead of climbing back where the puter is. Any suggestions?

I used to have PC-DMIS and MCAM Hasp on the same box. Both worked fine

As far as making it easy to swap (for those that do not have a USB hasp yet) I bought a 6 foot DB25MALE-DB25FEMALE cable like THIS

I use Gibbscam and Mastercam at the same time. two hasp keys.

I have 3 SIMS with no issues, Esprit, CAMPlete True Path, and Mastercam. All 3 are USB and are on the same USB hub.

I am referring to two hasp's that have Mastercam on them with different options basically. The Verisurf one doesn't allow the cam, solids, lathe, extra converters, etc to open and the Mcam one obviously won't open Verisurf. I basically need one hasp to open X so I can program and the other one to open 9 (Verisurf). Any ideas other than the swaparoo?

Yeah, get the Verisurf seat added to your SIM and return the Verisurf SIM to Verisurf.

To me, the ONLY reaso you would want to have Verisurf on a seperate SIM from your Milling is if the PC that will be dealing with it is a PC that will do ZERO Programming. If you're programming... bundle it (dealer-speak for putting several funstions on the same SIM, i.e. Mill LV3 + Lathe L1, Lathe L1 + Wire, Verisurf + Mill L#), etc...

Often it just makes sense. You get codes, and they should just pile onto of what is there if the developers did it right.

I have the same problem- if your verisurf and mcam maint. are two different dates, it won't work on the same sim, because you have to pay maint to BOTH vendors to get sim codes. Thats what I get from the verisurf guys...Yhey CAN do it so both run on the same sim, but maint is only correct for one..
