Deep hole drilling

X2 MR2 SP1

I am drilling thru 11" of material (graphite mold).

I use a 3/16 em and pre spot face the holes .3" deep.

(some holes are on angles and rads etc.)

Then peck #11 drill 5" deep

Z-0- top of block

Z retract at Z-.125

Is there a way to start the 11" long drill

where the shorter drill left off, and still have the retract at Z-.125"?

Thanks in advance

Rick

Jammer, 3 axis Hass VF3

Concept, I already tries every possible combination of values, including yours, to no avail.

I need the z retract to be Z-.125 to clear graphite dust out of hole using an 11" x #11 aircraft Drill.

Is there any way to have backplot show the actual pecking?

i have to go out to the machine to try every scenerio.

I suppose a chook or a new canned cycle with 2 sepparate 'R' values is in order.

It would be a very handy drill cycle for mold makers

thanks a bunch

Rick

Third string, Hardmill and Htm01, i recall doing it many years ago on a fanuc control, manually programming it.

htm01

I haven't programmed at a machine in a long time but the program you posted rings a bell.....faintly in the dark depths of my melon. wink.gif

I did just programmed the full depth to get'er done but will test out your code tomorrow and let you know if I was successful.

Thanks all cheers.gif
