One giveaway for Velocite #3 is that it is, I'm pretty sure, yellow in color. It does also smell quite a bit like diesel or kerosene from my recollection.

 

I agree with "when in doubt, throw it out" because the potential damage that the incorrect fluid could cost far outweighs the cost of the oil.

Thanks for all the great input. We did call the supplier and it is the right stuff. I agree with everyone on "when in doubt, throw it out" though but sometimes it’s hard to convince the owner... I'll just leave it at that, I think that should adequately show my frustrations.
