Renumbering tools in a tool group

X3 MU1

 

I imported 75% of the tools from another MCX file.

 

I now am left with 8 tools starting at 2 3 4 5 8 8 9 10 11 13. (each tool has 1 to 3 paths for each)

 

Is there a quick way to renumber all the tool in order

starting at 1 (to 10) or do I have to edit each tool manually

 

All paths are dirty if that matters

 

I right clicked on the toogroup and tried renumber tools but it didn't work??

Yeah Rick it is pretty much jacked up. I have had the same experiences as you. Was hoping it would be fixed in X4.

Maybe they can fix it for The X4 MU1 release.

Actually I don't know about X4. I haven't actually tried it yet. I didn't notice above that you were using X3.

I couldn't get it to work in any of the X2, MR1, or MR2.

Rickster do you have the assign tool numbers sequentially checked in machine group tool settings before you import?

try going ahead and posting the program anyway just to see if the Gcode is right. sometimes even though it doesn't look like it renumbered the tools---it actually did.

 

this happens for me when I have two programs in the same file and the same tool is being used in different programs. (worth a try)

With my luck it will miss one and run the 1/2 em for the 1/6 ball.

(not going to take that chance 1 week before meh vacation)

 

I ended up manually doing it.

I know before you could save after renumbering and reopen the file and the tool numbers would be correct. But I haven't had that problem lately.

i'm have this proelm too, tool sometime changer tool number, some time changer with R on that tool

right click/renumber? I don't use this feature often, but when I do, it works

Renumbering only works for me when I pick the head too, other wise no.

I usually select an entire operation or machine group at a time. I haven't done it since X4 came out though.

Seem to work fine here in X4.
