  1. Not just that, but if you have coolant on for the Mazak and then switch to the Haas you have to reset the coolant again! Erik
  2. Hey thanks Collin! I really appreciate your help! Erik
  3. I have a couple of posts that I would like to add a permanent M08 to... I want to add the M08 to the beginning of every tool and a M09 to the end of every tool. This should'nt be too tough? My local support guys are at roll-outs and on vacation. Looking for some help. Thanks, Erik
  4. Found an extra decimal point in my file name..... Erik
  5. Has anyone got their X+ to associate to a browser yet? I have been using Chrome for years.... Gunther had mentioned associating .html to a browser, x+ is creating the file with no file extension. What am i missing here? Thanks, Erik
  6. Thanks J I have a Mazak post that does what I want. If I have my "No rotation" box checked on my Rotary axis control page everything functions properly?
  7. Is there a way to use my Generic Haas 4X Mill.pst for standard 3 axis work, so it does not output all the "A0." call-outs everywhere? Thanks! Erik
  8. Windows 7 Pro 64bit @Xi® Computer Corporation Xi®MTower™ PCIe Workstation- Intel® Core™ i7-4790K CPU @4.00GHz 4.10 GHz 16.0 GB RAM 4m 49.658s
  9. I use a "ruled" tool path, using 3 contours when I am not channeling. Offset the top contour cutter radius + stock to leave, then translate the contour down to the floor, extend the bottom contour .05 at the start point then offset it .005 for a pull away. This really works best with open contours. Drill the corners channel from one to the other all the way around just pulling back the .05 then set-up to plunge out the center. This may be the long way around the barn, but the best way I have found with the control I want to have.
  10. I think some of issues we have as users could be resolved if we could link a hot key to a macro. This is easy in Pro/e, example would be exit function, undo and re-pick function with a keystroke! That would be nice. We know it will never be "bug free" so lets have the work a rounds easier with good macro writing/editing capabilities. Maybe I am missing something, but macros in MC are a PITA. Erik
  11. Just make a disable switch for the trim preview instead of trying to convince us that it is somehow beneficial for everyone. For the small fillets and stuff I immediately delete them (small arcs) and trim by re-filleting is that what we should do? Maybe dump trim all together and just re-draw the lines? I've known how to trim since v6 no preview needed. Erik
  12. We have been doing it successfully in the CNC for quite a while now. 10 flute 3/4 fraisa holding a .0002 with little to no taper. Unless you have really cheap labor in the grinding room they can't compete with a CNC mill. Erik
  13. We draw pretty much nothing with Mastercam, everything is imported some good some bad. Pro-e, UG, and Cadkey. We only draw in Mastercam to help support the machining process. We build plastic injection molds, and the customer dictates the software that is used for the design process a lot of the time. Erik
  14. I have a 22 inch wide screen LCD and a 20 CRT, no issues here. Erik
  15. Check to make sure all your paths are correct in your file open dialog, on the left side. If a network path is down and you have created a shortcut to a folder that is no longer available this tends to happen. Erik
  16. Use a Surface Highspeed Raster after Op 5, use restmill all previous operations and leave 0.0 on the floors and .01 or so on walls. I grabbed your file and got what I think you wanted. I could e-mail it to you if you wanted? Erik
  17. I found that it depends on where I start the chain, I had a closed chain with one square corner, the rest was lines and arcs all smooth transitions of varying degrees. If I start the chain on a fillet I get two surfaces one from the square corner to the start point and one after to the square corner. There should be a spot for a break angle or something like that. Erik X4 on XP 64bit
  18. Really pretty stable here as well. I am running X4 on 64bit XP system. I crash occasionally but not like you are. Erik
  19. That sounds familiar to me, I don't think this not uniquely a X4 problem though. That is from X3, still not fixed. Erik
  20. I found I could export the actual point positions in a .txt file then open and save as a .csv in excel, from there it was as easy as file open into X4. Thanks guys, Erik
  21. The Yasda has a double key set-up! What a pain in the rear! Erik
  22. I can get Calypso to export the target points (igs, stp) that land directly on the model but not the actual points that deviate from the target. Thanks, Erik
  23. I am looking for a way to get point data out of our cmm software, Calypso v4.8. I need the target point and deviation point into X4 for our customer. I have no idea on the cmm side, and neither does our new cmm guy! Anyone familiar with that particular cmm software? I have 2 blocks with 100 hits per block i don't want to hand type all the points and the customer doesn't either. Thanks in advance, Erik
  24. Where are you at now BenK? If you are a moldmaker it is pretty tough up in these parts! Erik
