Toolpath Allocation too low

Just started getting this error on the old style surface rest rough toolpath in X4 while referencing an .stl file. I haven't seen this error since VS 9. How do I solve this? My memory buffering is set to 80% I have retract issues when using the HST Rest Rough toolpath, so I'd rather not use it.

5 minutes ago and cleaned the temp files with no luck. (ran CC Cleaner)

I hate when a file gives that error.

No luck there either. I swear I've tried everything. I just reduced my toolpath memory allocation back to 50% with no luck either.

I can't remember for sure, but with things like this (today even) I delete the toolpath and start over. (don't use the same path and re-select geom or copy/past from it. delete it first and then start over)

 

That usually does it for me.

The problem actually lies with the STL file saving accuracy being set too fine

A 0.002" setting should be opened up to something like 0.010" , even 0.040"

 

If saving a STL after verify, remember to set this value before running

Also, I have noticed that putting you memory buffer in config/toolpaths to 99% seems to help many issues that you wouldn't think it would help.

Ok, its been a while since this has been discussed, I am now having an issue with this using X5, I have tried some of the suggestions listed and will try the others.

Does anyone else have any suggestions?

Getting this error as well when doing an old Surface Restmill program.

X6 also getting this error using Surface Restmill on my 3rd setup. first two STL file accuracies set to .025. When I try to regen it stops on Facet #183000 and gives me the error. Tried just about everything listed here and then some. Any help would be great. Would love to resolve before I have to call my reseller.

Using X8 and getting the same error message at the same place facet #183000 with surface restmill.

 

Has anyone had any feedback on this issue or know how to solve it?

You might be able to compress the STL file by doing this - create a stock model operation, set the initial stock shape to the STL file and set the initial stock shape tolerance quite large.  The resulting stock model might have fewer triangles.  You can then save the stock model out as a new STL file (right mouse menu).

 

(Or consider using the stock model operation in HST-Opti!)
