What ever you do, DO NOT UNDER ANY CURCUMSTANCES plunge into it. Ramp, Helix, whatever you gotta do. You'll grenade a tool in 2 revs plunging. It's VERY unforgiving material.

I've cut quite a bit of it.....

1) start at about 80% of what you would figure inco 718.

2) Heat treated is generally better. 42Rc is best IMO.

3) Nothing less than micro grain carbide, unless you want to get cryo treated 8% cobalt, which will last a bit longer than carbide, and is less shock prone.

4) DO NOT DWELL, but be easy on the chip load.
