small crane for lifting rotary table

Ditto on the engine hoist.

Took the outrigger legs off, welded a square angle iron frame around the bottom, used the casters on each corner. Built a "box" on the back side with angle iron and sheetmetal and filled it with scrap metal.

Use it for the rotary, tombstones, long heavy parts in and out of the lathes, works well. It is a bit heavy with the "ballast" so it takes quite a push to get it rolling.

We use a "skyhook" crane system. Mounts to lathe tool posts and they make adapters for the mills. Can bolt it to the T-slots. We are converting a cart to mount it for use on the lathes for chuck removal as well. Just add counter balance on the bottom of the cart.

Their cart was too expensive and not engineered for what we need. Got turned onto them by another shop that has been using it to load their 4th axis since they opened.

Edit: Forgot to add that this has very precise control for lowering the 4th axis with one hand letting you guide it with the other. One man needed to do the job that used to be 2. List is $595 plus the adapter.

We have a Columbus Mckinnon hoist that we have never used (long story). I don't know much about this thing but it's just collecting dust. It may work for your needs. Email me if you are interested and I can get some info and take some pictures. I would sell it for a good price.
