Operation Import Wrecks Tool Library

Hi there,

Sometimes (not always, but sometimes), when I import operations from another MCX file, it totals the tools I already had in the current MCX file.

Any operations created previously have a red cross and "Tool Does Not Exist" where the tool would be.

I have encountered this in both Mill, and Lathe. Mainly in X3 (we haven't installed X4 because we are in the middle of a big project)

Has anyone else encountered this?

I had a problem with importing operations. After importing an operation my ops manager would be ALL messed up. I discovered there was an issue with importing ops and having groups in your group manager. Now after importing anything I save the file, open my groups manager and delete any groups, and resave my file. I haven't had any problems since going to this procedure.

Don't know if it will help you but give it a try.

Mike

I'd install X4 anyway.. X4 MU3 is a big step up

from X3 in both functionality and reliablility..

In regaurds to your import issue.. this was common problem for me in X3 , but haven't seen it ever in X4

Thanks for the tips guys.

Doyleg, whilst that may work (I will try it later), the fact is, we shouldn't *have* to do that to get around it.

Neurosis, yes, it would be nice to install it, but, to use it, we need to update our 28 different post processors, and while working 12 hours days, that really isn't an option at the moment smile.gif
