oldman if you are student why my I ask would you need a post if you do not own mastercam?

If the school needs a post have them contact MC Education dept.they would be able to help them.

And I am going to make one statment, I can do without your website. It is not relavant to anything that goes on on this board and I feel it is just asking to get yourself flamed. You are entitled to your beliefs (even if they are absurd)but maybe this is not the place to post that site.

I second that!

Mr. Webmaster; is there a way to review some of the information submitted by these idiots who blow in and out of here? This website would be one example, as would things like a location listed as "Gottatakeacrapistan" or something like that that was listed by another fly-by jackass awhile ago.

How do these guys find us?

You know after Jay made the comment about the website, I went to it. Holy crap. There has to be some way, as Chris said to weed these out, personnel opinion or not, this is a MCAM site, not a political site. Jack did it right by stating what he was doin in his "One tin soldier..." thread and an intellegent debate started. This is just a fly by night pirate looking for a free post. Now I see why webby brought up the FAQ thread again. I think we all need to start checking user profiles alittle more before help is offered to see if there is a legitimit website behind the goofy user name.

Using a school as a cop-out is terrible. If any one is going to get the posts they need it is a tech school.

Damn, we sure have alot of drama goin around lately!!!

LOL

We can disable the ability to offer a Home Page in the profiles, but this would tend to hurt the people who use the field for its intended use.

Remember this is a URL that links off-site. It's really impossible to check every member. We're not respsonible for the content of other sites.

All you guys have done is bring visibility to a site that probably had no hits prior to today.

5AX I think I made the same statment.

I think you are just confirming my thoughts.

Whatever, but it still does not belong here. I think by having it here you are just asking for an uproar and I just personaly do no t believe this is the place for a website of that content to be linked to.

I agree you can not check all and I do not expect you to.

But by sending a mail saying this is not the place to post the formentioned website, becuase this is not in good tast.

Is not asking much. JM2C

Jay,

Don't feel sorry. You are right. You are my hero! cheers.gif

I am too tired about those Saturday night politician use this MasterCam forum as their battle field.

Webby, please play fair. What do you think if we use 9-11, Holocaust, Iraq poison their people or we use some evil sites, software pirate sites and porno sites as our home page in our profile?

In general, is everyone willing to give up all political chit chat here - even the stuff you agree with?

I mean SENSITIVE SUBJECTS and in ATTACKING MANNER.

Please take look at Jack and Larry and this posts and look back your forum's history, you know exactly what I am talking about.

Hey, this is your forum. You can do anything you want.

I don't want to be the bad guy like Jay. biggrin.gif

Thank you for your consideration.

I do like this forum. You are doing a great job. Don't get me wrong. cheers.gif

For me the homepages gives an indication how serious some one is.

When it dont like me I simply clck it away, but I still have an impression.

I didn't see anymore from "TheOldMan" !?

BTW our homepage is only an startup version and not yet in English.

So I didn't put it on the board.

Sorry for my bad English. rolleyes.gif

I've removed the web link from TheOldMan's profile. The registration agreement states that "we at this BB reserve the right to delete any message for any or no reason whatsoever."

In this case, cadcam's concern that the link would raise a stink here is on the money, and I'd like to minimize these types of threads.

I agree with Jay & Webby. I to was enraged at the Theoldman's web site, and found it very un-American. That being said, who are we to say what a person is to belive in. This is a Mcam forum that ocasionaly dives into some heated debates, I feel this is healthy.

Obviously this guy relized he is busted out because he has not posted since. I don't feel that censorship should be the Webbys job, we as users and instructors, should hold ourselves to a higher standard and not stoop to such things.

We do have the right NOT to respond to members that we disagree with, kind of like we highjacked this thread biggrin.gif . It is now, after a couple of months, becoming obvious to me who the true users, and who the fly by night guys are just by looking at there profile and the way they ask there first couple of questions...."I need a post for free for ...."lol

Jayson,

I can understand your progression to a horrible trick by this 1st post from a less than honorable person - please don’t be angry.

Hugh has put up a question about surfacing and flat boundaries; I am asking you to please reconsider what it is that you do for all of us forum members and what it is that you do for your own business (Precision Programming).

I am sure that between you and James there must be close to six thousand responses on this very forum – I am at around 200 or so myself and believe me it does take an effort; actually a record like yours and James takes an exemplary effort.

The Webmaster has to make moral and ethical decisions here on a daily basis, he doesn’t like to pull the switch on anybody else until this is pointed out by an offended member, I don’t believe they want to interfere with the forum too much but need to step into the fray from time to time; I believe this forum was created by a passionate person(s) much like yourselves.

Right now is not a very good time for me to be writing.

My spouse is being hospitalized with multiple surgeries, my father passed away on Feb9th, peacefully on his 71st birthday; he was a Korean War veteran and is honored to wear his military uniform for his service and his country, he will be buried on Thursday morning in full dress as per his request.

I wish you all the very best, I wish you to remain a kind and forgiving person, and I wish for you to please reconsider. You are very much loved in our forum and very, very, much respected by all. Besides, what am I going to do with the Machine Shop Rambo award that I am engraving for you and James; this award is for a collective issue between you two gentleman, which is to say you two must agree on this years recipient; you must agree and you must engrave the tablet so to speak and you must not tell the recipient until the engraving has taken place. – I think this would be a lovely award and tradition to carry forward, for I am honored to present this. smile.gif

This will be shipped to you when I have completed the machining – all will be given the opportunity of viewing this prior to shipping. smile.gif

Regards, Jack

Jack - just a thought of sympathy for your family, and sorry to hear about your Father. Your writing is very entertaining and I look forward to future episodes.

Jay - Don't let the turkeys get you down!

and webby - Darn - I didn't get around to checking out the controversial site, and now the link is gone forever. I was waiting to check it out from home, because if it was a bad as ya'all say I would have sure jeopardized my internet looking at it here at work biggrin.gif Darn
