Cimco DNC-Max has a restart feature, Cimco edit does not.

 

Here is how the feature is worded in the brochure

 

Multiple send/restart functions give the operator the ability to send from any point in file, specified by line number, block number or tool change - including remotely with remote request

 

The software will make the tool call turn the spindle on and apply the length comp for the curent tool.

 

It just works!

If you are talking about the Cimco DNC-max software, The book says that you can do it but we never actually tried it here. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

I use Extreme DNC which has a restart feature. I have used this in the past, but always at a tool-change. Is it posible to restart a program from the middle of a toolpath? I don't know if the machine's control or the software is smart enough to pick up the fixture offset, tool length/diameter and cutter comp from the middle of a cut.

In our machines if you search to a "G0" or a rapid it DOES pick up the tool offsets and proper location.

Easytalk supports a restart. Thats why its so popular locally

 

Only thing is, you have to edit in the tool offset and speeds/feeds if necessary
