O/T Eastec Attendance

Just wondering; anybody going to Eastec next week?

 

We're planning on going Wednesday; wouldn't mind putting some faces with names if any of you local guys are going out that day.

I was thinking about it, but I cant see making the trip for a single day and 2 days away from the shop isn't looking good given the recent pile of job folders that ploped on my desk.

 

There is still an outside chance I can hype up the Lean Mfg. Conference and meybe get some upper mgmt. support.

i wanted to but plans have changed. have you noticed that a good percent of everyone on this site is from the mid-west or west coast? well, all i know is that the manufacturing has gone to crap here on the east coast.

I have heard that manufacturing has started picking up considerably all over the east coast.

We're slow right now but a couple friends are doing OK

We have seen a very significant increase in customer orders. Things are looking very good here.

Its funny, I've been picking-up some nice work, but its been comming from the west coast.

I don't know if I'll be atending eastec this year. Things have been so lean that I cannot afford anything there, or the time off.

We're doing well. Business is very good but we manufacture our own product(s) so we're in a little different situation than many or you.

weve been slowing up... for the last 2 years i was getting 55 hrs then down to 50 now starting june 1st going to 4 -12 hr days and friday off im ready for some free time

Still very slow here .. We have a lot of unpaid time off this year and more to come ...

 

As for Eastec should be there on Tuesday ...

out of probably 350 tool shops in north west pa. I would say less than 10% are doing well and

maybe 3% are doing excellent.Things are still pretty slow in general here and I was at Mold

Making technology show in cleveland 2 weeks ago

and most said the same.I am trying to get into more diversified things I would like to bring some aerospace work to the east coast.
