very small very long boring bar

I need to find a supplier of boring bars with .110 min or smaller min diameter but has 1.2 inches of reach. Does anyone have any suggestions? Or should I get a form tool made up and try it that way?

What are you cutting? I would prob go tapered carbide EM in that situation.

Dang dude looking at that part I would think anything but boring. Depending on material and how many and what the budget is of course but WEDM comes to mind.

I would agree with Goetzlnd and Jamman. EDM or Gundrill based on the fact most boring bars that are Carbide you can go 6 times the diameter or the bar. The .110 diameter you could go .66 , and then you also need to think about chip evacuation.

One of my vendors has a grind shop that can make anything. I have them grind up bars that fit the Circle A style holders when I need to reach deep with a small tool. One of them will go in a .16 hole 2.15 deep. Another will go into a tapered hole that is .09 on the small end 1.6 deep.If you're interested, contact [email protected] I just draw up what I need and he will quote it.

I don't remember where I used to get them, but used small bars like this to turn (bore)the taper of the copper nozzles for lasers machines. The small bar was brazed into a 1/8 diameter shank.
