.08 was a total guess on my part. Most of the stuff Dan mentions cutting are Steel Alloys. I've seen him mention 4340 before. I like leaving extra stock to leave when I start increasing my filter tolerance. A good starting point is to use 10% of your Stock to Leave value for the total tolerance of your Toolpath filter. I recommended .006 for the filter, so .06 would be a good stock to leave value. I just said .08 because I thought this Toolpath might be cutting something tough, and thought a little extra material for finishing might be a good idea.

 

It also really depends on the size of the part.
