Tool for 90 deg teeth

Hi Every body,

I have to cut 90 deg included teeth, 2 mm deep in 304 SS material and 5" X 7" rectangle plate. At the bottom of the teeth should be min radius. Any ideas to suggest the tool which last long to do 200 pcs will be helpful. Thanks in advance.

In my experience the tips on those Harvey mill/drills are kind of fragile, so you'd have to take it easy with it. Can you set up at a 45° angle and use a flat endmill?

+1 Rotating your setup would be by far the easiest way to do this, however I'm assuming that is not an option If you are looking for a 90 degree cutter.

+1 to go with Matthew's suggestion. Using the center point of any kind of tool in stainless isn't going to be very productive. A key cutter style tool with the part on its side would work also. If you absolutely have to have a center-cutting mill drill type tool milling from the vertical I would suggest you go inserted. There are a few out there meant for engraving. I can't remember the brand right now since I am at home, but it is similar to this: http://www.advancedc...ngraving-tools/

We have a Big Daishowa 90 Degree tool with modular head that we use for chamfering and spot drilling, It is quite a good tool, however it has a 0.5mm flat on the end of it. I'm sure if you took light cuts something like that tool would be ok...304 has always been a huge PITA for me!

I turn 304L and 316L here everyday. yeah little bit of a pain. always a little edgey when I've got to tap blind holes in it.

Hell yeah, that really blows. I always pu$$ out and tap 'em shallow and finish by hand.
