What should one receive with Maintenance. Besides updates?

 

What should you expect from your reseller with paid Maintenance?

Maintenance is "generally" software updates and very basic support only

 

Many resellers offer a support contract as well coupled with maintenance that offers more robust support but it is usually a separate purchased item.

 

Let's also be careful and note, if you're having issues with your specific reseller, airing reseller problems on the forum is a TOS violation, that should be taken up directly with your reseller or CNC if that doesn't work out

We had some carpet cleaners come in last summer, in the morning my mousepad was stolen!!!!!!!!!

I have a drawer full of them, some are pretty old and dirty. LOL

My dealer offers unlimited phone and fax support, though I doubt anyone ever does fax support anymore,

I think they offer one or 2 courtesy visits per year as well though I've never taken them up on this.

We also have several binned posts which they update for us every year and make minor tweaks at no charge

Each re-seller will be different, we add a bunch of stuff on top to "sweeten the pot" for maintenance costs.

The local dealers here have me come out and help at open houses or even at the local trade shows. They cover the crazy quota just by having me come in.

Very similar to ours. I cannot fault our support.

 

And Dodger - don't knock the rat pad. You'll give 'em ideas and we won't get them anymore if 'they' think we don't use them

I'm actually happy with getting the updates and good service.

The mouse pad is just a little bonus.

 

Unless they feel like I need a 10 day Hawaiian vacation.

somebody is hijacking your mousepad..

When you are on maintenance, you get a shipment of every point release via US Mail.

The box includes CD's,a What's New book, a QuickStart manual

a shortcut cheat sheet and a mouse pad.. I've received one every single year

since I purchased Mastercam V8
