Save to lower version

Hi guys, I've noticed with X8 that I cannot save a file to a lower version anymore. I have X7 on another computer but I made the file on X8. Is there a way to be able to still open it with X7 without losing anything? What file type would you recommend to save as?

Also another question not related. Sometimes when I open files, there looks to be a whole bunch of dots all over the place but it is not geometry cause I cannot delete it nor does clearing colors or repainting do anything. What is this caused by?

Even the save to a lower version from previous versions of MC was geometry only, no toolpaths.

You can't save backward from X8 and as a practical matter you really don't want to.

You'll always be able to open an X7 file with X8 but going the other way will never happen.

Turn off 'Display Arc Centers' in the config to get rid of the points.

I was trying out X8 on some new jobs. On one of them, verify wasn't looking right, but everything else seemed to look OK. It was a small, simple part, but I couldn't afford to just run it and find out there was an issue, so I went back to X6 and programmed the job. While I had to redo the toolpaths, I *didn't* have to redo all the surface/boundary creation, etc that I already did in X8. So I have to disagree that it's not practical and will never happen.
