X8-Stock Model is Broken again

I ran a part thru verify, every thing looks good. Then I created a stock thru stock model, it s showing a big gouge. Any work around please?

Not really. See it happen often, but not with simple (it appears to be) stock as yours.

If your stock is the product of previous operations, try recreating it.

Also, try maxing out on the precision.

I usually get the result I want, but it's like pulling teeth. There are problems.

I run into this very often and it is really annoying because I am often using this to drive optirest toolpaths and the gouge causes issues with the toolpath results.

I just save the Verify results as an STL and use that to define the stock model.

Been my process of choice for a couple years now.

Its sad. I just recently changed to that "old school" method because stock model hasn't improved. It sucks when the tool you rely on so heavily is so unreliable and cumbersome. Was told CNC was working on a new engine for stock model but haven't seen it.... Other CAM softwares handle this perfectly fine.

 

Problem with saving the stl is when doing rotary work and verify swiss cheeses your part.

 

I'm not sure why we would expect more then what we get.

Try changing your control definition to have all axes feed at max feed rate. It's a double edged sword because you won't see rapid move gouges anymore. Damned if you do, damned if you don't. I'm sure it will be fixed in the next release
