Enhancement Request

Guys/Gals,

A nice gentlemen at CNC made a CHOOK for me. Now that all our programmers use it we find it frustrating to not have it, I would like CNC to include the CHOOK with MasterCam and especially during the Beta Cycles.

 

My normal workflow consists of creating a toolplane using dynamic wcs, creating a viewsheet with the same name, setting the wcs to top, setting the t/c planes to the new toolplane, gview=toolplane, fit screen, save viewsheet bookmark.

 

The CHOOK does all this automatically. Launch the chook (which launches dynamic wcs), set the tolplane like you want, name it, set the work offset and hit enter. It does everything above but uses the name you typed into the dynamic wcs utilty and names the viewsheet for you. Click the viewsheet you want and start slinging code.

This would be a very beneficial addition.   It would definitely make the process of using viewsheets more efficient.  I would use this feature a lot.

Verisurf does something like this minus the view sheets with their WCS tool. Be a great addition to the main software and might get more people using the View sheets if it handled it this way currently.

Nice! That is much faster. It's a lot of work currently setting up 10+ wcs' and view sheets.

That is a lot, particularly when you multiply that number by 10-100...

I voted "no" because I don't use viewsheets, but if they were easier I suppose I might be more likely to.  As a rule I don't use add-ons (like Verisurf) for Mastercam because that would preclude using beta versions.

I can't live without viewsheets. It makes it so much easier for anyone (including yourself) to jump in a program and have no doubt what is going on. Also if you set your planes correct you just click on the viewsheet (rotation) you want and start coding, all your settings are correct...

I don't use view sheets but this cook would get me to. This is a big time saver for all plane changes required to so our parts. Great job Josh!
