So i am using a VPN connection to work at home.

But, i have pretty slow internet connection.  So when i try to connect it will say "no sim found" for a while, then finally it will let me in...

If i try it on a faster connection it works fine.

Is there any way to tell mastercam to maybe "look" for the nethasp for longer before it times out and says no...?

Well we recently swapped to nethasp and they had to pay for it.

Im not sure what all is involved in switching back.

Anyone ever switch a single licence from nethasp back to a dongle?  Remember the cost?

do you have the ip of your network server listed in nethasp.ini on your home machine?

are you using a wireless connection at home?

if so try plugging it straight into your router with a cat5 cable

I'm not sure, but I think rolling a license back to a USB hasp would be pricey

but it never hurts to ask your dealer

Look in your nethasp.ini file. At the bottom of the file are these 2 lines

; General Keywords.
;
;;NH_SESSION = <Num>            ; See Adapting the Timeout Length
;;NH_SEND_RCV = <Num>            ; in the HASP Programmer's Guide.

You can change the initial value of <Num>  , the first search period in the
NetHASP algorithm loop, from its default value of 2 seconds.

To change the initial value of n:
• In the [NH_COMMON] section, set NH_SESSION = <seconds>
where <seconds> is the desired initial search period.
Setting the NH_SESSION keyword in the NH_COMMON section,
applies to all protocols. To set the session value for each protocol
independently, set the value of NH_SESSION in each protocol section
separately.

Don't forget to un comment the lines by removing the ; characters like so:

NH_SESSION = 15            ; See Adapting the Timeout Length
NH_SEND_RCV = 15           ; in the HASP Programmer's Guide.

Ok now I can get in just fine but every few minutes it pretty much freezes for 30sec to a minute.

I'm guessing it's making sure there's still a license available...

Is there a way I can make it a longer interval between these searches?
