MC7 Files

Hi Guys,

 

I have some old jobs that have come back and everything we have is in MC7!

How can I open these in MCX8? I actully have MCX6 installed too.

 

Please let me know what I can do as reprogramming all this old stuff would be a killer since it was a production part that was all dialed in.

I believe you'll need to bounce them into either V8, V9 or X, then opening forward is straight forward

Just getting them to V8 or V9 is a problem.

Been way to long since I have used or had either.

 

BTW. just tried MCX5 which is as far back as I have here and it will only go back to V8.

I loaded X onto an old computer this morning!

done.. all the tool paths came in dirty cause the original NCI was missing

but it's way better than nothing

yeah we still have occasion to open an X7 file from time to time so I keep  a copy of V9 installed on this box

fyi..  V9 runs fine on Win7 x64.

As long as you're running a nethasp it will have no problems seeing the license so there

is no need to keep an old XP machine around for V9, if you have a nethasp

can also run with VMWARE virtual XP, I have thousands of old V7 files that we need to use for repairs from time to time

HTM01, I have seen this as a hit and run for some reason over the past years. for some reason dose not always work well. I thinking it also makes difference on the computer to.

I run it on a 17 with 64bit win7 and runs with no issues bing V9 if I need for something.
