very long endmills

any of you guys know where I can get 3/8 and 1/2 endmills with 3.75 loc?

I would prefer something standard and not a special order.

I would be using them to finish 4340 at about 40 Rockwell.

That loc, 3/8 or 1/2, 40 Rockwell is gonna scream. I would suggest a relieved tool. Garr makes some decent ones but I really like the SGS.

Might check out Helical. Iscar has a new 19 flute tool, but is only 2d. I am going to try it out on some A236 at 100 sfm and .002 per tooth feedrate with 5% step over and see how it does.

These guys offer stuff on very long blanks as standard. I believe they have a necked version that would get you the reach.

19 flutes? Are you sure you are not looking under burrs? LoL. You say a 5% stepover so you are roughing with it I assume? Is that in the multimaster line, or just their solid carbide tools?

I found some niagra cutters that came today and seem to be doing the trick.3/8 with .625 of flutes,necked down to .360 and goes to 4.1 deep.oal is 6 in
