Solids

Am having trouble with Solids not regenerating after i reopen a file. Have checked to make sure that the solids manager was ok prior to closing the file, Is there a switch some place that needs to be changed. any help would be appreciated.

check the program at fullerton collage last nite and they are doing the same thing. am running ver 9 with a radeon 9200 128 meg.

It might have something to do with your video card. What card are you running?

Are you changing your chain tolerance on original file?

radeon 9200 just changed it i am running ver, 9 mastercam

no am leaving all setting as they are. it happens as soon as i pull the file in.

So are you just getting a "wire frame" and the solid is not coming thru, or are you getting nothing at all?

wireframe is ok. and some of the solid. it apperes to be only one part of the solid. i have two faces that are at an angle to the front and anything done after them is in error.

Sorry, I wanted to know if that was your regen problem. I sometimes get that when I bring in my solid. I get the wireframe but the solid is not visable. Even tho I have shading active.

 

I then have to unselect shading, then re-select it and then I get my solid.

toolfab that was a good question. nothing to be sorry about. i have it down to the solid that is at an angle to the body that i am extruding to.

Then I have to bow out. Sorry, I don't do any design work, but someone else that does will help out I am sure.

Try turing down you accelator on the advanced tab in the display settings and see if that takes care of it for you.

I'm going to make a wild guess and say that your computer has an ATI video card in it. If it does,

try your troublesome file in a computer with a good (not an MX anything) NVIDIA card.

But it may be not a card problem too

Try to run file->next menu->ram-saver .

Also save your file by other name and try nohistory c-hook

It will remove a history tree from solid ,it may be a problem 2.

YOU WILL LOOSE ALL YOUR SOLID TREE , SO A BACKUP OF YOUR FILE IS A MUST !

First of all I want to thank you all for the help. The problem was just to simple. I was picking to many faces. i had a choise of three faces and it looks like i only had to pick two. For some reason it coaused the boolean calculations to go wild. Again thanks to all
