4th axis indexer not repeating

Is it controlled directly, through serial, or by M code pulse?  The only way it could be a problem in the Haas is if it's controlled directly from the Haas fourth axis servo amp.  If it has its own control box and you tell it "A90." it should do 90° exactly.  Most likely problem is the encoder in the indexer.

Ford makes better engines than Chevy. Do you want a Ford engine in your Chevy? The reason I ask this is the place that I work at followed the same mentality and they have nothing but problems. They put Haas indexers in Fanuc machines.

You had to go and open that can or worms! (ford and chevy)

But yeah, Id never buy anything other than a Haas indexer for a Haas machine, if only because its just plug and play...

the Hass has pulse parameters for driving 4th axis

(ie so many pulses = 1 degree)

You need to find out the pulse count for your Hardiinge 4axis and set it correctly in the Haas parameter page)

I ran into this with Haas indexers.. 2 different indexers purchased 7 years apart,  required different settings

to run accurately.

two things need to be correct:

1. setting

2. parameters

i like to think of the setting (where you enable the fourth) as a file name and the parameters as the contents of the file. The setting calls up a set of parameters for an individual 4th axis.

at any rate if hardinge sell it as compatible they need to give you a full listing of proper parameters.
