Tim,

I'd recommend sending this into [email protected], and see if they can give you any ideas?

If that fails, ask your customer to output a STEP file from Solidworks. (or at worst, an IGES file). You may be missing surfaces or faces, but at least you'll have a starting point.

I've had customers in the past that gave me absolute garbage for models, but in combination with the model and a drawing, I was able to rebuild the model.

John, mines already unchecked.

The guy that's giving me the file is our designer.(in house) I already had him give me the file as a step, igs and parasolid all with the same results. I'm just trying to solve this problem. I'm sick of getting these files that won't import correctly and the smarty pants cimitron guy behind me saying his opened just fine, Must be that junk mastercam. This has been going on for years. I just wanted to get it figured out. Hopefully my reseller will get it fixed. Thanks for all the replies.

Solidworks opens the file but complains about a missing file: 29114AA_A01Y_TIR Optic HB WORKINGV3.5.SLDPRT

Agreeing to the error opens the file and a rebuild and import into Mastercam works fine.

Error is from Solidworks....Not Mastercam.

I can post the .mcx-9 if you would like.

I think my reseller confirmed what you guys are saying. when the solidworks guy saved the file he didn't disassociate it to the assembly. My reseller opened it in solidworks fixed that issue and then resaved it and now mastercam opens it fine. Thanks everyone for all the help.

Tim , that is what I found to as I opened it up in SW2015 and found no history and saw it strange. but I was able to save and open with no issues in Mastercam.
