printing drawings

I'm trying to print and old drawing using our hp designjet 500ps and I can't get it to work. It starts up and the printer head just comes in to the edge of the paper and goes back. It does this over and over till I cancel it at the printer. Please help!  I'll attach an image of my settings.

Edit: I should note that I can print from this printer fine using spaceclaim when I create new drawings.

At the last place I worked we had similar issues with our HP 500 24" , if I remember correctly we had to convert our older dwg files to pdfs, then it would print them. It was a PITA because I had to figure out how to keep the "D" size format while converting.

Make sure your printer queue is clear too

I created a rectangle equal to the outside edge of the border on the drawing on a different level and tried to print just that and it does the same exact thing.

Are you using Windows? If so, just double click on your printer & cancel any open jobs in queue

I  cleared the queue and I also double checked the printer port settings. They are good. Any other ideas?

What format are the Spaceclaim drawings, that you can successfully print, in?

I create them in spaceclaim and print directly from spaceclaim, so I guess they're an .scdoc file

So, may I ask the obvious, will Spaceclaim not import and print the dwg?

Yeah but when I bring it in, all of the colors get changed and it prints it real light. Plus I can modify the drawing in mastercam easier.

I'm not sure what you mean. Did you mean save as a pdf then print that?  If so, I don't know how to save as a pdf. It's not in the drop down list

Then when you select your printer "cutepdf" will be an option. When you click to print it, after a few seconds, a dialog will open for you to name the file & where you want to save it.

I installed CutePDF and tried it. I was able to save my drawing in mastercam as a pdf. I then opened it in bluebeam to print it and it changed all of the line colors to a dull bluish grey. Kinda what I was getting in spaceclaim anyway. Maybe I'm doing something wrong. Any ideas.

Also, you can try dopdf 8. For some reason here at work the cutepdf is blocked as malware. I am using dopdf and it works great with Mastercam.

Does doppdf keep/print the colors?
