I've wanted to do a "tech exchange" for lack of better terms of actual files that have been ran and made parts.  I'd like to see how others do things myself.  However, I can't share anything I do so I don't know how I could even participate.

I would like to see complete programs done.  Not small piddly one or two ops in a file but complete program with fixturing solids and everything.  I think it would be a great way to get better to do things for other people start to finish and have them run it and vice versa.  It'd be very hard to do with ITAR and Non-disclosure agreements but I think it would be a good way to get better.  I do what I do, I'm good at it but it's all I do.  I'd like to broaden back out and stay sharp across many types of parts.

When this group was conceived, that was the exact reasoning for it , for each of us to do the same part and see how everyone would attack it,

but what we end up finding out that not everyone was on same version so if was difficult to  share files, for example i had to drop out , cause everyone else was moving on to the latest and greatest MC available ... which they should, But because I couldn't , I'm stuck with ver. x6..  for number of reason...

But all in all it a great idea, it help people start looking at jobs in a different way..

Good luck

Ron

The next problem is the files will not open in standard Mastercam from what I understand.

Ron is correct, files created in the HLE can only be opened in the HLE or on an educational seat of Mastercam. The HLE can open standard Mastercam files but once you go to save it you'll be asked to switch to an .EMCX or .EMCAM which can't be opened on an industrial seat.
