Analyze chain

Analyze chain shows the radius of each arc in the chain, but it would be awesome if it showed the minimum and maximum radius of the chain in a summary. Is there yet any way to do it fast?

I grab analyze dynamic , click and drag it along the chain with my eyes glued to the read out !?!

Analyze contour gives you all the radius data, but it's not presented in a user friendly way

How do you analyze the distance of a curve now?

 

I could have swore you could pick an arc or spline and it would give you the total length of the curve as if it was flattened out in a strait line?

 

I used to use that in ProE all the time and thought back in X5 it had the function but now I can't find it.

Click on the arc and hit F4

One on the resulting data fields is arc lenght

oh ok they put it there...had to do the math first.   ya that is it...I was just expecting the length to be longer....

edit....What I was looking for was actually Analyze Contour.

 

You have to toggle 3d. 

 

Then you can find the total length of the chain...it will be the very last entry on the txt file.

I use the Analize Curvature found under the Check Solid Drop down under the Home tab and this tool will let you type in your Tool Radius and quickly evaluate the model for you and will color code the areas where that size tool rad can not fit. Not sure if you tried that but if you have a ton of Radii on your model that may be the fastest method

Plus one to dynamic it works excellent for radii as he said u can drag the cursor. I will also have to try the click F4 option other user suggested.
