Customizing your Ribbon

Well Ben showed me his and then it got me thinking how can I make the ribbon work like they are supposed to work. I have condensed mine down to the recommend less than 7 by Microsoft on the MSDN developers website. How have others customized theirs to be more useful?

I've fully customized my Ribbon to make it so I'm more efficient (still not as efficient as I was in X9 though)

An absolute MUST for me on EVERY tab,the first 6 functions are:

New

Save

Open

Print

Fit

Clear Colors

The one question I have is are we going to be able to create our own custom drop down-menus anytime in the near future? I would love to hide a lot of the icons that I barely use but just removing them from the ribbon isn't an option due to the fact that I then wouldn't have access to that function. Simply making a drop-down will allow the software to function like a menu style interface and keep screen clutter to a minimum.

 

I got away from using the ribbon for the most part by creating a extensive right click menu.

That is my QAT with the ribbon minimized when not in use.

Did anyone @ CNC ever respond with the QAT icon size enhancement?

I know it was in the hands of their software package company that they buy the interface from, but they said they were asking the question?

A word of warning here. I lost the ability to pick a machine type with customizing my ribbons too far. I uninstalled Mastercam 2018 and reinstalled it and with the default work space I could pick a machine again. I replaced the default with my custom one and could not pick a machine type again. I even turned back on the machine ribbon I had did away with and still could not pick a machine type. I have sent the corrupt work space to CNC Software to let me know what is going on, but at this point all that work and effort has been lost and I am back to day one with Mastercam 2018.

Okay got an update from CNC Software. You cannot add Machines to the Home tab. Doing so will do what happened to me. They were able to repair my workspace file, but I have just about got back to where I was do I just will stick with the new one.

Any way to set it back to the old style?

If not, anyone have custom workspace files to share? Creating one of my own looks like it's gonna be a ton of mental xxxxion....
