The above lines should output this......
(Created on - 10-11-05)
it outputs this......
(Created on - --05)
It outputs correctly in V9.1.
It outputs incorrectly in X.....any ideas why?
john/bill....my 1st arc does not highlite, my visual cue does not change to tangent on my 1st arc....
my 2nd arc highlites & my visual cue changes to tangent for my 2nd arc
....create-line-endpoints....then select the tangent icon......
it should then prompt you to select entity, it doesn't, ( this is the problem ) it prompts you to select point...
Is this a bug?
How do we proceed?
.....i read this topic....i played with auto cursor......i tried 50 times.....I CANNOT create a line tangent to 2 arcs.
I can create a line tangent from a point.
I have 2 diameters on my screen, I want to create a line tangent from one to the other.
I select create-line-endpoints....I then select the tangent icon on the ribbon bar, my auto cursor is set to tangent only.....It prompts me for the 1st endpoint, (but the tangent visual cue isn't active), I can only select points. Once I select a point the tangent visual cue becomes active for my 2nd point.
How do I select my 1st arc????
This should be simple....1-2-3
metric.......if all or most of the surfaces you receieve from your customer lie in a normal plane when you go to use create-curves-from surfaces.......arcs will be generated not splines.
you may have to do a little cleanup on the surfaces/curves that don't lie in a normal plane....but that's not the end of the world

my problem was that I didn't have MR0105 installed.....installing it solved my problem.
I still don't understand why I could contour/surface before then all of the sudden I could not.
anywho......I'm up, I'm running and I'm dabblin' with MCX
I receive this eror when trying to generate a contour toolpath.
Warning-unsupported function call
Recompile with new m_*.h files, link with new m_*.obj files
I'm running v9.1 sp2 mill/solids/lathe
I checked my mp.dll file version #....it is v9.1.9.101
Is this correct mp.dll file?
I installed X last week.
model has 492 surfaces
When I try to ceate a solid from surfaces I rec. this error.
Parasolid kernal interface error
KI error code:1043-
tolerance is less than parasolid tolerance
yet.....when I pull this file in on another workstation......a solid is created.....why?
both workstations set up same
both win2k sp4
both have v9.1 sp2
both have same config settings
both have same stitch settings
someone please have an answer!?
ALT-F8....START/EXIT.....select Cimcoedit
......this doesn't work?
Is Cimcoedit a choice?
If yes --- Is this correct version?....if not select "other" and browse to correct version of Cimcoedit.

What do you all (and admins) think about adding an additional forum dedicated to MCX?
Just a thought....would be easier to search questions/answers for v9.1 and earlier versions in the old/present forum......create new forum for MCX and later versions questions/answers.
The stl file I have is 39mb in size and contains 975846 lines. it took 45 mins to load as well as 45 min to perform each rotate, flip, move, etc...etc...
Is this how stl are meant to be used?
I don't have the time to use this file.
Are there any shortcuts that I don't know about??
Am I using the stl file correctly?
I've searched the site and while I found lots of discussion on stl files....I found no definitive answers.
Any guidance will be appreciated.
I want to use an stl file saved from a verify op in MC for material in another verify op.
(using MC or SW or both)
I verified a file in MC then I saved it as an stl file. (the file is 39 mb, all lines)
My plan was to import the stl file into SW, then save as an SW solid/stl file, then bring it back to MC. However the file when imported into SW is not a solid, it's a feature.
Feature Statistics
DH-02-145-OP2material
Features 1, Solids 0, Surfaces 0
Total rebuild time in seconds: 0.00
When I try to save as an stl or sldprt or x_t... I get an error saying no solids exist.
How do I use an stl file from verify for another verify operation?
