  1. HI Damn! I wonder why I didn't get one!! They nust still be upset about that Haas-sucks.com site I registered when they screwed me on my warranty? Maybe next year... John
  2. Woo Hoo!! Check this out!! First my wife OK'd the upgrade to ver 9 - 10,(which shocked me). Then she suprises me with 4th row seats to the Aerosmith/Kiss concert at the Forum last night. How's that for an early Christmas present! And she had me fooled, thinking we were going to a posada. at her Mom's house. Anyway, our seats were so close that between Kiss and Aerosmith I was able to sneak up and swipe one of Joe Perry's guitar picks!! Aerosmith Kicked Butt! one of the top ten best suprises / presents I've ever got!! Merry Christmas John
  3. Hi I hear you, and think you're on the right track. I have just started saving operations and applying them to new geometry whenver programming now, rather than reinventing the wheel everytime. Actually (and only because I had no idea what I was looking at) but the surfcam (? I think it was them) guys almost had me sold on the fact that the program supposedly built on the machining knowledge of everyone, and did all the toolpaths for you. That just sounded a little too good to be true, and James came down and showed me what MC could really do, and well here I am. The more features I see in Ver 9.1 ( i'm still on 8.1.1) the more I can't wait to see what ver. X is going to do!! Merry Christmas John
  4. HI Yeah, if it doesn't work for MC, I'm sure i'll find something *cough-QUAKE, UNREAL-cough* to do with it. Can't let that 15 bucks go to waste! John
  5. Hi Just got a new PC game controller from PC Club called the n50 Speedpad, made by Belkin. Basically it's a "other hand" game controller for shooter games, that has 10 programmable keys, with 3 shift states (and status LEDS), an eight way directional thumb pad, and a throttle wheel. It's USB, and the box says it has 56 programmable features. Figured it be cool to try out with MC, and the best thing is it was a whole $15.99!! I'll let you know how it works. John www.hotshot.com
  6. HI I am still using 8.1.1, Level 1, and was planning on waiting til Ver X was released to upgrade, because I honestly did not think that (at least from what I saw) version 9 was worth it. After using it all of 16 hours, I can't wait to upgrade!! It's the little things that got tweaked in V9 that are hard to live without once you have used them, and I haven't even started using WCS yet. Anyways, I am still fighting with management (My wife, ...o'yeah ) about the upgrade, and just hope we don't miss the damn 12/31 boat!!! Wish me luck John
  7. Hi Just like others here, I did NOT want to do what my Dad did (tube bending, welding, etc.), and that's exactly where I ended up. The only difference is that he is afaraid of technology, and I love it. John www.hotshot.com
  8. Hi I LOVE my SGS Z-carbs!! John
  9. Hi Is anyone here going to take advantage of the 1/2 price upgrade (ver 8 - ver 9) when they agree to purchase the maintenance contract? Thanks John
  10. quote: Dave and Busters, Onatrio mills shopping center. Good Beers Jer Uh, Yeah... That oughta help my programming. Well, actually, it probably couldn't hurt. Thanks John www.hotshot.com
  11. HI One more thing, WHo knows where to eat in Ontario??? Thanks John
  12. Hi I wish I could take the night classes ( 8 hrs at a desk is too long for me), but I'm going with traffic.. Forget it!! Anyways, the class is cool. I already learned some stuff I didn't know, and think I'll be doing pretty good by the end of this thing. I'd recommend it to anyone, especially after teaching myself for the last couple of years. O'yeah, and after playing with V9 for a day, there's a lot of stuff I liked about it, so I guess we will be signing up for the 1/2 Price special - Maintenance deal before theend of the year!! See Ya John www.hotshot.com
  13. Hi I'm almost as excited as when I decided to go to the local community college a few years back for some business courses. SOmehow I don't think there'll be as many cute girls in the MC class, though. See ya John
  14. Hi Well I'm finally dragging my a## back to school. I have enrolled in the NTMA training class for Mastercam, on Saturdays from 8-4:30. 18 Weeks!! Can't wait til I learn what is actually possible with solids and surfacing, 'cause so far it's been strictly 2D for me. Wish me luck John
  15. Hi Actually this used to be the only link that came up; http://www.coxar.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/ Good Stuff John
  16. quote: Could you please list the wearabouts of Osama Bin Laden, or perhaps Sadaam Hussein??? Ha Ha. BTW, has anyone typed "weapons of mass destruction" in GOOGLE?? Try It Thanks John
  17. Hi I am trying to find a source for aluminum extrusions in 2.5", 2.75" and 3" round with a wall of .060 6063 T-0, for mandrel bending. This stuff bends better than tubing. No one around here can find it, but I know of 2 places using it (who won't tell me where they get it from). We're in L.A. Any Help? Thanks John
  18. Hi Hey can you please post some details or links where I can find more info on the air spindle you mentioned. Thanks John
  19. Hi If there are any of you out there looking for a replacement spindle for your Tree VMC 1060 or 1250 ( that's what they list anyway) there are three brnad new spindles up for grabs right now, at less than $200 ea. I Called ZPS, and they don't fit the VMC 840 which I have, darn it@!! Check here if you can use them, auction ends today. http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?c...&query=Tree+CNC Well, hope this helps someone. John
  20. HI O'yeah, this hapeens alot!! Alt-A at every change, but also get a program called GoBack. Available for Win 2000 and XP. It has SAVED me from tossing my PC across the shop at least 5 times that I can remember. MC never seems to crash on the easy stuff, only on the week long projects!! GoBack RULES John
  21. EBAY may take a while, but you WILL find it. John
  22. Hi Cool, I found a few on ebay for cheap (Well, cheaper than new). Anything to look out for? Now if I can just talk the wife into letting me spend some $$$. Thanks John
  23. Hi Just got back from the SEMA convention in Las Vegas, and saw some cool welding robots at the lincoln electric booth, along with a ton of cool cars, etc. . Anyone here have any experience with these? They are Fanuc, i believe, and didn't look that complicated. Just wondering if anyone here had any recommendations for picking up a used one? Thanks John
  24. Hi Does anyone out there know where I can find a replacement set of seals for the way covers on a TREE VMC 840? All of them are bad. I have a bronze replacement on My Haas for the rear seal, but the guy who did that never got back to me about the TREE. ZPS quoted me over $8,000 for new way covers, because they are sold from them as a set only. Thanks for the help. John www.hotshot.com
  25. Just in case this matters - Also using the Delta Dynapath post for Mill ver 8, tweaked a bit. Thanks John
