  1. Ok. I must be an idiot, but I dont know how to get to mastercams extranet page. Could you maybe put this up on the .FTP where we can find it? If not could you direct me as to what the extranet page is; is it under mastercam.com or something else? Thanks
  2. quote: It's downloadable via the Developer's downloads section on the Extranet Ok. I'll bite. Where is this located at, and how do I get there from here? Thanks
  3. Could someone please put this on the .ftp. Firewalled, cant get it. Thanks in advance.
  4. Yes. Im having a hard time trying to understand "where to get the code". Ive got VB to work, and went through all the sample programs per the .pdf, now how do I make something happen that I need to happen? Do you pull the snippets out of MC SDK? I know this sound like an ignorant question; Now what do I do? How do I start putting 2+2 together? I still cant get anything to build when pulling in the samples from the C-hooks. Ill update them to VS 2005 and point them to MC SDK, and Windoze PSDK and they fail to build. It cant find certain files, even though I can go into the folders and find them myself. This really sucks for a rookie trying to learn without any guidance; no fault of CNC's, but again, any guidance is appreciated. 1. Perhaps a basic explanation of where to obtain code for use for building nethooks.(Since these are the only ones I can get to work.) 2. Some further examples of even cheesy programs. This would be great to have a visual. 3. An updated to VS 2005 .pdf to learn from.( I think that Im doing it right, but Im not sure) 4. Im sure that this list will get longer, but for now I think this would help get me rolling! Thanks for being understanding to my frustration. Trying to learn on the fly is difficult for anyone.
  5. Your girlfriend? Self portrait? Wild fantasy? Hello again.
  6. Does the VB Express version support adding bitmaps? They dont show when Im trying to use the tutorial. Project>Add new item>doesnt show up in the templates. How do I get around this? Thanks to all.
  7. I am having trouble trying to put together several things; any suggestions or guidance would be appreciated. I have installed the following: Visual Basic Express Visual C++ Express Microsoft PSDK MasterCam SDK Issues: 1. Using the help files that come with MasterCam SDK, and trying to build a c-hook with C++, I cannot get a program to build successfully. It inevitably errors at the bottom and shows that I have yet another file missing. Do I just need to re-install all software, and if so what order should I do this in? 2.When using any of the associated help files provided from mastercam, everything is based off the 2003 version and it makes it very hard for a newbie such as myself to navigate and learn. Are there any new help files available? I have even looked at the old documentation provided with ver.9 but I am failing to put much together(For VB) I have no guidance other than the forum, any tips for starting out on the right foot would be appreciated. Are there any simple projects out there that pertain to using mastercam and creating hooks and scripts that would be usefull to me? Where is the best place to start other than in the middle of chaos?

  9. Im just starting out obviously learning the C++ as well. MasterCam is great to use but I also would like to be able to control things quicker on the fly. From a programer/operator standpoint I dont have the time I would like to have to build the ultimate program for every part. Ive tried to use the Macro funtion, but it never seems to be reliable or consistant. I think the potential for the application of hooks is huge with a lot more dependability and flexibility than the macro funtion can provide. Thank you both for the feedback.
  10. Im posting this in this forum as well hoping that other people may see it. What applications are being used to apply c-hooks too? I know that they are only limited to the imagination, but I need some tangible evidence that they are worth pursuing the creation and application of. (How do I justify my spending time learning this stuff to the boss?)How will it save time and money in the long run? Thanks I appreciate any feedback to this post.
  11. This question should be on the developer forum, but its to quiet in there. What applications are being used to apply c-hooks too? I know that they are only limited to the imagination, but I need some tangible evidence that they are worth pursuing the creation and application of. (How do I justify my spending time learning this stuff to the boss?)How will it save time and money in the long run? I appreciate any feedback to this post.
  12. From what I understand this material should be similar to 4350. Any opinions on how this machines?; similar to 4140 I think.
  13. Homogenous Class 1 per spec mil-a-12560
  14. Anybody know how this would machine? Trying to quote a part but have never cut this material. Thanks
  15. The default haas post included with your install cd has a descending peck drill cycle that will output I, J, K values. I use it for deep holes on plates.
  16. Contact your reseller to get the posts you need for these machines. Welcome to the forum!
  17. quote: We stepped up and bought ProDrill. Prodrill is awesome if you do tons of holes. So far in my experience with it the setup sucks, but once you figure out how its thinking (as with all software)it seems to get a little less cumbersome and trustworthy. I still cant figure out how to make the chamfers actually come out right, if you could help me with this Colin......It would be appreciated. I have always just contoured the chamfer on, but it takes a little while to program each and every hole as you can imagine. I believe that this is one of the most advanced feature recognition add-ons yet that I have used.
  18. Im not alone then on the button issue! It has always seemed bass ackward with X.
  19. Thanks, Ill play around with it when Ive got some free time.
