  1. Is it possible to set up a peck drilling cycle using a linear line as a path in the x & y planes? Drilling holes on 45 deg angles with a 90 deg head. I have to use a point to point toolpath but am trying to find a better way.
  2. ......Sounds like a "Dear John" letter to me. I think were all pretty upset with the performance of X so far. Optimism John, Optimism
  3. Check your code, I like to slip in the occasional G83 on a tap and its not cool. As for as being able to tap past a 1/2" in a mini, Ill tap up to 7/8 regularly, you just have to give it some rpm to work with or it will stall. 7-1/2 horse motor on most of ours, I dont know about the older ones though.
  4. Had this happen for the first time this morning. Changed an old program for a haas to a different machine def for a fadal, and got the same message, buffer overrun, corrupt file and all. Went ahead and posted it and just edited out what I needed to get it to go. What gives?
  5. Mask on arc, pick the arc you want to match, go to the top and pick all arcs and enter.
  6. quote: ..And going to tripple-check my numbers. Just smash the go button.
  7. Why not just create a single surface on top of them? Flowline likes to cut individuals, so if it the only path you can use this would work pretty good. cept' all the z moves.
  8. Thanks guys. John, I was hoping you were around this morning. Ive got two parts with six different configurations on it. Basically a rotary trunnion I designed. I import each of the configurations into Mcam, and dropped them on diffent levels and toolpathed each. Just not real sure of the best way to verify each setup to include the fixture. The stl way just seems to messy, and the box way doesnt really show me much. Thanks again.
  9. Ok, modeled my part and fixture with solidworks and imported all views, seperated layers, and toolpathed each; I would like to verify my fixture with my part and am not sure how to get something other than the box around either my part, or the entire fixture with the part. Question: Whats the best way to do what I want to do? STL,or what? Thanks all.
  10. quote: i need a part that was created that way Look in Prodrill sample files.
  11. I think you got it wrong. You initiate the macro within solidworks and define the reamed holes and it creates a file. You open mastercam and bring in your part, then execute Prodrill. Where it says "set features" you point it to the file you created and then execute and it puts the information together for you.
  12. Make sure you have administrative rights on the system, you should have, if you dont none of the changes you make in the control def, or machine defs stick.

  14. Bruce: Whata you got? The link only shows that you guys had success in building a cool post, but no code. Show me the code! Show me the code.
  15. Well, yeah, sure I do. Dont want to get abused to bad though. I already sent mail to Phil the martian man. Thanks
  16. I do NOT want a post. I would like sample code to send to my reseller so that he can create a post for our 90deg. head. Its hard to tell him what I want when I dont know what I need. Thank you to all.
  17. quote: The Macro recorder has the same limitations. It will not recognize the mouse click event on a dialog box control. It only records keystrokes. Could everyone who would like that functionality please email [email protected] and request it? I'll send it in again... This really makes the macro recorder very limited as to what it can do; It always seems that anything I try to do on it doesnt want to work. I finally gave up on it. I hope it gets changed as well.
  18. I copy them down in the view manager, then rename and redefine them from there. I havent had any problems creating any new ones yet. I can end up with a whole bunch of em' too.
  19. quote: I always use either entity or a solid edge and don't worry about the diamter box. Ditto
  20. Thanks for the input Phil, I let you know what I come up with.
  21. Phil, Is there anything that I should be aware of when we build a mount for it? How do you have it set up for your VF2? Do you use coolant through it, or just use programmable from the machine? Thanks again.
  22. Is there any certain way that a mounting block should be built to suit a right angle head? We just purchased a centreline head and would like to use it in a Haas VF10; is there any place out there that builds these ready to go? Also, how well do these work for tapping, milling etc. Thanks all.
