  1. I posted a program on the ftp site called 1-8threadmilltp.mcx,. I havn't tried threadmilling yet. I've been waiting for more info to come up on this site. I created a program that I think will work but, why does my tool look way to small during backplot and why does the thread not show up in verify. Any help in threadmilling would be greatly appreciated.
  2. When you are importing a file. open the options box. In the lower right corner is an area that says units, tick the radio button to "scale data" and it will scale it when it translates it.
  3. Thanks for the info Pete. That helps a bit. I did a search and read about the blanked entities, but I thought it said the problem was fixed in MR1. My bad. Thanks again
  4. Thanks Peter, I showed your'e response to out designer and he said from now on he'd output everything .step for me. I tried the latest file that way and it worked so much better. With an iges file the part rotated extremely slow, but in the step format it rotates as fast as I want. And it came in clean, no dupelicate entities. The only bad part was it was devided up among over l,000 levels. I just moved it all to the lvl I wanted. Thanks again.
  5. I've already read the help file and everything that I could find on the forum. Hopefully mr2 will help. Thanks for the response though.
  6. could someone please give me some kind of idea how to import an igs file to get the best possible result? For example, on the iges read parameters page, is it best to use read xyz or uv, check the tolerance box, scale data or overide units. When i import the igs file, if i check overide units it comes in in metric, so i change it to english. I end up with a bunch of dupe entities most of the time and the wireframe is usually blanked. What i've found so far it is best to open a session of x first then pick the file i want to open/import. Then open the iges read parameters page and click read xyz and scale data. It comes in in english but i still have the wireframe blanked and a boat load of dupes. Please help. Thanks
  7. Hey J.Keilman, this is one of the things that I thought you couldn't fix. I looked at my machine def. manager but couldn't find where to adjust these speeds and feeds. Would you care to eleaborate in detail, for a guy farily new to mastercam. Thanks Tim
  8. Yes, the all result c-hook is what i'm refering to. It has an icon that is a purple circle. I created a new tool bar and put this icon on it. I also put the icon for select all on it, and the My mask icon. I saved my mask as all wireframe. So i have three icons on this tool bar that lets me select the result, all wireframe, and all entities. What i would like to have is icons created to select "only wireframe", or "only surfaces". If you could have several differen't "mask" icons and save them any way you wanted you wouldn't have to mess with the general selection tool bar as often. I just like being able to click an icon one time and select what I want verses having to click 5 times or so to select what I want. I really appreciate the help.
  9. My biggest complaint with X is the General Selection Tool Bar. I set up My mask Icon and saved it as all wireframe. I put this icon, the select result icon and the select all icon on a new tool bar. This saved a lot of mouse clicks. My question is, Would it be possible to have a couple of more c-hooks created, with icons, put on the FTP site, that would be called "only wireframe" and "only surfaces" that I could put on this same tool bar. It would save a tremendous amount of mouse clicks. It takes 5 clicks just to pick wireframe only and leave it that way. Thanks
  10. I finally figured it out. I had to delete pwcs out of the post and that removed the H numbers. Thanks a bunch for the responses guys.
  11. jmparis, I tried deleting the *tlngno, from the post and it still outputs the H1. The only thing was I couldn't find ptlchg_com in the post. My post is a generic mill post, the machine is a Cincinatti Milicron. Sorry about the caps lock, just a habit I quess. Heres what the post looks like with the tlngno in it. pbld, n$, pfzout, scoolant, next_tool$, e$ # "G43", *tlngno, absinc$ = sav_absinc pcom_movea
  12. COULD SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME HOW TO GET RID OF THE "H" NUMBERS IN MY PROGRAM. I'VE INSERTED # IN FRONT OF EVERY TLNGO STATEMENT IN MY POST AND IT STILL OUTPUTS H1. IS THERE ANYWAY TO EDIT THIS IN THE CONTROL DEF. I CAN'T FIND IT IF THERE IS. PLEASE EXPLAIN IN DETAIL IF YOU HAVE THE ANSWER. MY KNOWLEDGE OF EDITING POSTS IS MINIMAL. I HOPE THIS IS A LEGAL QUESTION, THIS IS MY FIRST POSTING IN THE FORUM. THANKS IN ADVANCE.
  13. Same problem here. I talked to my reseller about it at least a month ago and he said he never heard of that problem yet, so assumed it was my mouse as well. Hope they fix this with the next update, if it's a bug.
  14. Try selecting the color you want before importing the file. I think that will take care of the problem.
  15. DOIN GREAT. NEW JOBS COOL. BEEN DOIN SOME HARD MILLING, WELL ONE TIME ANYWAY. I DON'T KNOW HOW MUCH TROUBLE YOUR'E HAVING WITH X BUT SO FAR I HAVEN'T WENT BACK TO 9 AT ALL. ALTHOUGH I'VE BEEN CUSSING A TIME OR TWO. MINE KEPT LOCKING UP UNTIL MY COMP. GOT UPGRADED TO 2 GIG. NOW IT JUST ACTS FUNNY IN THE MORNING. IM ALSO HAVING TROUBLE WITH CHANGING COLORS ON SURFACES. I SELECT "ALL" ON THE GEN. SELECTION BAR, CHECK SURFACES ON, CHANGE GENERAL SELECTION TO WINDOW, RIGHT CLICK ON COLOR, WINDOW THE ENTIRE SCREEN AND ABOUT 80% OF THE SURFACES CHANGE COLOR. WHAT'S UP WITH THAT.
  16. I'm having the same problem, just thought it was something that I have'nt figured out yet. If I'm writing a surface tool path and select my entities by window I have to exit the program and change the selection method to chain and then go back into the geometry selection to select my chain. If anyone figures out a different way I'd like to know about it. Hows it goin Hoskins?
  17. I was getting the same lines that you're getting at the top of my programs as well. It's in the post. Do a search for g28 until you find three lines that look something like this, pfbld, sgabsinc , sg28 ref zo pfbld, sg28 ref, "x0.", "y0." , e pfbld, sg28, g92, *xh, *yh, Zh, e Put a number sign # in front of all three lines. This should solve the problem.
