  1. Thanks jlw. At least I now know it's not something I did. Hopefully this will get fixed in the next windows update.
  2. I recently installed mastercam 2018 on a new computer and I "replaced" my .workspace file with my old one and now every time I open mastercam, the first time I right click it takes any where from 30 seconds to a minute to open. I noticed that it saves the .workspace file at this time. Every time I right click after that in that session it opens instantly. Any suggestions?
  3. I'm having the most difficult time creating a surface from a solid. All I want to do is create a surface from only a few faces on the model. Every time I try to select individual faces it selects the entire model. I can't for the life of me tell when I have "only faces" selected as the selection method. It doesn't highlight enough to tell. It looks like only "face selection" is highlighted but it still tries to select the entire model. Please help this is so frustrating. I've had problems with this ever since version 2017. Edit, I figured it out. If all else fails, read the help. lol. I never noticed there was an icon next to my curser that changed depending on if it was selecting faces or the entire model. What's the purpose of having the solids selection method at the top of the screen? Just sayin
  4. Awesome, thanks a million. I have a few things I would like to see added in the future.
  5. You'll have to excuse my ignorance, but how do I submit an enhancement request?
  6. Dang, I hope they change it on the next release. Thanks John
  7. Thanks for the quick response John, I'm sorry, I should've said, select multiple tool body's "at the same time" with out having to select each one manually one at a time. I wish I could window them or use the group, or result quick masks. The first one I select is the "target" and most of the time I have several "tool" body's to cut out of the "target". It's a big pain in the rear to have to select each one of them manually. Am I missing something? There's got to be a better way. Tim
  8. Is there a way to select multiple tool body's when performing a Boolean operation? for example using the group or result quick masks or by window. (fingers crossed)
  9. I was wondering if it's ok to uninstall my 2018 beta? It has expired. I kinda remember seeing something on the forum about it's better to just update it when the full release comes out. (not sure) On another note, does anyone know the time frame for the full release of mastercam 2018?
  10. That's awesome!!!! I have to say that I love some of the new functions. They've really made some big changes in the 2018 version. Thanks for the info gcode
  11. I wasn't sure where to put this but, It would be nice if "they" would give us the ability to section view solids like every other cad/cam package on the planet. Just sayin. Would be an extremely useful addition.
  12. 1. It's not an edge curve per say in this case that's giving me the major issue. 2. I'm the mold designer and I use mastercam and spaceclaim to design. The guys making the molds use my files to run off of and they use cimitron.
  13. The geometry doesn't come in clean with the step file. I usually don't have any problems with step but for some reason one of my arcs isn't coming in at all.
  14. jlw, I'm not wanting to create all of the edge curves. Let me explain further: I'm designing plastic injection molds using mastercam. I design an ejector cavity, draw the drafting to be engraved on the ejector cavity, break the drafting into lines then export this file out to the cnc guys (which use cimitron) to be machined. What I have to do at this point is, 1. save the file as an iges file(which exports the engraving good but no solid, bunch of surfaces) 2. also save as a parasolid ( which exports a good solid with no engraving) 3. import both files 1 and 2 into spaceclaim 4. copy the good engraving from the iges import to the parasolid import 5. save the new combined file as a parsolid out of spaceclaim WHICH EXPORTS PARASOLIDS WITH GEOMETRY JUST FINE!!!!!!!!!!!!
  15. my step files won't come in as a solid. I can save a file out of spaceclaim as a parasolid and it comes into mastercam with the edgecurves. but mastercam won't export a file with edgecurves as a parsolid?
  16. I can't figure out how to export a parasolid file with the edge curves. Is there a way to do this? tia, Tim
  17. mikenaturalice, Does doppdf keep/print the colors?
  18. So not a Guru, I installed CutePDF and tried it. I was able to save my drawing in mastercam as a pdf. I then opened it in bluebeam to print it and it changed all of the line colors to a dull bluish grey. Kinda what I was getting in spaceclaim anyway. Maybe I'm doing something wrong. Any ideas.
  19. htm01, I'm not sure what you mean. Did you mean save as a pdf then print that? If so, I don't know how to save as a pdf. It's not in the drop down list
  20. jlw, Yeah but when I bring it in, all of the colors get changed and it prints it real light. Plus I can modify the drawing in mastercam easier.
  21. I create them in spaceclaim and print directly from spaceclaim, so I guess they're an .scdoc file
  22. I cleared the queue and I also double checked the printer port settings. They are good. Any other ideas?
