  1. M98. See this doc: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B5XaYM4BtcGQRkJvxxxxdjZXaTg/view?usp=sharing
  2. Yeah it's weird. It's M98 P1000 ,D0 Server file is 1000 Identifier is O1000 I'll try again today. Wish it had a Fanuc but the machine is good enough to deal with the control.
  3. Gents, We got a new HX500G and I'm having trouble jumping to a sub program on the data server. Anyone have any tips? I'm following the instructions but as I'm sure most are aware of the goofyness of the "IM Kitamura" control.... Thanks, Josh-
  4. CNC Software recommends not moving files from where they expect them to be. I found out the hard way that respecting this will make your life much easier. I got 20 machines/control/posts to manage and once your wires get crossed it gets ugly quick
  5. I wanted to share this bit of info with others. In the past I've tried moving all the "shared" files to a network folder. This caused me much grief as so many parts of MasterCam looks to the shared folder and wires get crossed up so easily. So what I found worked ok was using a synchronization software called ViceVersa. This was a really lean way to accomplish this with a small user base. Now I'm up to 12 different workstations and it become a huge PITA every time a new release came out. Now what I do is create a "shared mcamx9" folder on the server with all the files I want. Install X9 and let it build the shared folder. Close MCX and delete the public documents folder. Then Create a .txt file with the following: mklink /d "C:\Users\Public\Documents\shared mcamx9" "K:\Sync Files\MASTERCAM X9\shared mcamx9" Replace the second link with the link to your server. Save it as .txt and then Right click on the file and say run as admin. This will create a folder called "shared mcamx9" in your public documents and have an arrow on the icon. This is not a shortcut but a link. Windows/MCX sees this folder as if it's on your hard drive. Now when you edit a file in that folder then everyone else will see the edit live. Hope this helps. -Josh
  6. Guys, Any recommendations for buying a turnkey swiss? I need somebody to give me cycle times, how many machines needed to meet quantities and cost. If we move forward I want the parts programmed, setup onsite and turnkey. Any help would be appreciated. -Josh
  7. Whats the consensus of the G550? I'm looking at one with the HSK63 Spindle. Thanks, -Josh
  8. Thanks for the info. I'm looking into this robot. It might be a better/easier solution then the Fanuc ones. -Josh
  9. So baxter can only lift 5lbs. That's a show stopper for us. Now I need to look into Fanuc robots. Gonna need two of them working together. Any good resources on implementation? I'll be buying used so I'm not sure how much help Fanuc will be. -Josh
  10. Does anybody have experience with Baxter the Robot? I'm looking at buying one to load one of our specialized horizontal cells. http://www.rethinkrobotics.com/
  11. Aaron, I sent a file on Thursday last week. -Josh
  12. Big Kaiser. Great stuff. Only BigPlus tooling I'll buy. Worth every penny.
  13. I love this function but every time I try and use it I find problems. Hopefully it will be dialed for X10. I really want to use it
  14. Autosave will save during generation of a Multi-Threaded Op. FYI. I'm not pimpin the product. Just trying to help other users.
  15. Yes. there's lots of options. I have ours setup to "IF" 6 users are active (our limit) AND both the program AND CPU have been idle for more then 10min then close the most idle user. You also as a "client" user the ability to right click on the icon and close most idle user..... It's pretty cool stuff once you get it dialed into your needs. At first I had it set to close all users who exceed 10min idle time. This caused a bunch of whining so I changed it to idle forever unless we max out the licenses....
  16. Dan, Simple answer to all your questions is no. This software was developed for accounting software at large companies. It's very simple in it's functionality but doesn't do what your asking. I've searched high and low for the solution your after and unfortunately with our Hasp it's not possible. For more advanced licensing solutions you can use OpenLM. Not with our Hasp from the early 90's... Josh-
  17. Colin, This software isn't cheap. Its $1,000. Compared to a seat of CAM software its cheap, but compared to a seat of Cimco maybe not. Josh-
  18. Straying a little off topic... Colin, Download the trial and give it a shot. Let me know if you need help configuring it. Josh-
  19. All, For years I've struggled with how to effectively manage our Licenses. The Alladin software has zero functionality. Hell it is barely good at just serving licenses..... I finally hit upon a good solution for us. http://www.autocloseidle.com/ Basically you install the server on the machine running your license server (or wherever you want) and then on each PC you install the client. The server instantly sees the clients and assigns them default settings. The key to this working is using AutoSave. I set all our computers to autosave every 7min without prompting. Yes this can be a pita and yes you have to use the backup function always incase you need to roll back. The software needs to be able to request a "close" without a prompt to save. Here's how I have it setup. We have 6 seats of mill and the software looks for the application name "MasterCam Mill" (I've excluded Lathe): The software is configured for 5 users, unlimited time. MC will not close. Upon the 6th user that opens "MasterCam Mill", the software will start looking for the least used license over 10 minutes idle and close it. (autosave is normally in effect here, every 7 min.) So basically you can have 5 people running MasterCam unlimited time frame. Once the 6th user shows up then AutoClose Idle will try and find a user with over 10min idle cpu time and will close that instance. Now you have 5 seats used and one available. If all users have been active in the last 10min then all 6 seats will be used until 10min inactivity is seen again. It works perfectly beside Alladin holding licenses once in a while. I have a BAT file that runs every 6hrs to purge the licenses. Only downside is the software developer can be slow (like a week) to respond. It's worth it though. We have at times 9 people that need to program and this allows the flexibility we needed. Hope that helps someone. We're all in this together. Any questions just ask! -Josh
  20. We use Machsim for our horizontal and 5axis machines. Works great and has been a huge time saver. If we could afford Vericut we would buy it though...
  21. Yeah. Had this problem MANY times over the years. Tried everything CNC suggested. NOTHING resolves this issue besides just buying Cimco Edit. It's funny that I can copy the cimco folder to a pc that doesn't have MasterCam installed and it works yet some computers that have X8 and X9 it won't work at all. Good luck.
  22. Tore a 10" hole in the tool changer door. Luckily the door shredding took all the energy out of it....
