In the mori control?
I remember having this issue on the first NL I programmed. I plotted everything out and there was no reason for the alarm. Just a silly control. Would be nice if that fixed it.
Josh-
We use toolex 4" and 6" vises for most VMC and HMC work. We even have a handful of Toolex Tombstones. Probably have 30+ Tooled vises. Breakdown and clean after every job.
All we buy for 4th axis rotary tables and 5axis machines is lang stuff. They just came out with a 96mm mount 3 jaw chuck. I'm using one on our MyTrunnion 5. Kick xxxx stuff.
We can swap setups in under 2min.
Try changing your control definition to have all axes feed at max feed rate. It's a double edged sword because you won't see rapid move gouges anymore. Damned if you do, damned if you don't. I'm sure it will be fixed in the next release
Its sad. I just recently changed to that "old school" method because stock model hasn't improved. It sucks when the tool you rely on so heavily is so unreliable and cumbersome. Was told CNC was working on a new engine for stock model but haven't seen it.... Other CAM softwares handle this perfectly fine.
Problem with saving the stl is when doing rotary work and verify swiss cheeses your part.
I'm not sure why we would expect more then what we get.
I would call Ingersoll. They seem to know their s..... I don't see it being an issue. The insert curls the chip upward, the wiper stabilizes the material and insert, not necessarily creating downward pressure.
This is the best finish facemill I've ever used. 0.003"-0.005"DOC . Absolutely stunning surface finish and flatness. Can spin to the moon also...

The answer to all your questions is no unfortunately. Been there done that and gotten no help from cnc.
Was the overcut condition on a backfeed move? I just had a backfeed cut at 75% at 500IPM with a 2" facemill. It was because my step up was 6.25%. Apparently 6% doesn't trigger the bug. I had 100% faith in the Highspeed toolpaths. Now I don't.
Colin,
I think that might be the problem. It has some pretty large rotations to get the motion and I believe that first move I one line. I believe some of the others have multiple moves but maybe not enough. I also seem to recall this being a problem when I first started programming pur variaxis. Chalk it up to rookie 5 axis programming.... I believe this toolpath is a curve 5axis.
I'll head into work and try cranking up the resolution. I hope that works.
Thanks!
Josh-
Guys, I seen this on my mazak but can't remember what the fix was. This should be a flat square toolpath but instead it's digging arched trenches. Any ideas?
Thanks,
-Josh
Thanks Colin.
This is what I got from Kitamura:
rapids
Prm 1420 A=2250 deg/min
Prm 1420 C=6000 deg/min
feedrate
Prm 1422 = 24000 mm/min max feedrate all axis
Post has this line:
maxfrinv : 99999.99 #Limit for feed inverse time
What do i set it to?
-Josh
That sounds like a good plan. It's turned into a headache for sure. Mazak is easy to use G43.4. Fanuc not so much. It is never fun to buy options for a used machine....
Any advise for setting up the proper inverse feed time for my machine? Or should it be good with the standard 5axis post. Excuse my lack of understanding.
Thanks for the help.
Josh-
Does anyone have experience setting the correct parameters on a 16i for TCP on a table/table machine? I'm getting killed here and no help from Fanuc or Kitamura after paying for the option.
-Josh
Thanks Guys. I thought I tried those but I'll give it a shot again.
Colin, to capture the value of 10027 do I just place "if prmcode$ = 10027," in the pparameter$ post block? It seems I did that and got an alarm. I think this would be the best way to capture the value for other op's also.
-Josh
Anyone know what parameter or variable pulls the value for "top of stock" in drill toolpaths? I can't find it anywhere in the documentation or the NCI.
Thanks,
-Josh
Ranks at the lowest of any machine manufacturer we deal with. They mean well but I've had some unpleasant encounters and way too much hand holding.

Mori and Ellison is hard to beat. We have 9 Mori's and love them all and Ellison's service is top notch. We own one Mazak and it will most likely be the last.
