  1. I was trying to name-drop Aussie drinks!
  2. Originally I thought we'd mount a 90deg head along X+, X-, Y+, or Y-. Bruce decided to slap a theoretical manual rotary/tilt angled head on a tilt/tilt 5-Axis machine. The vector math stuff was used to analyze the angles between the final 'as-mounted' aggregate position, and the desired tool vector to set the machine rotary angles. It's been far too long since I've dealt with that stuff, so it gave me a brain owey. MP really is kickass. Thanks CNC. I'm either drinking a case of Fosters or a case of Peter Lehmann Shiraz this weekend to get this one out of my head. Whatever it takes...
  3. In a standard 4-Axis post, your toolplanes in Mastercam need to align with the machine-achieved toolplane. Sure, Z points along the tool, but is X in your toolplane aligned with X on the machine? Our 5-Axis posts get around this issue, but we don't bother in the 4-Axis ones.
  4. Here's to 6 fun years of Mastercam support, conservative US politics, and bonkin' n00Bs over the head because they asked for a post. Thanks for your participation everyone!
  5. The right method to repeat comments has changed from V9. Try your part on one of the 2 Mpmaster X posts under the Posts button here, and see if they work. Maybe try the non-beta version, since the methods there could more easily be applied to an V9-updated-to-X post.
  6. in pdrill$ and other drill cycle post blocks search for *fr$ on the line before that, add fr$ = fr_pos$ and see if that works
  7. At the time of the toolchange, a misc1 drill cycle would report opcode = 3 and nextdc = 6
  8. There was an older format freebie version (hunt it down - Tools, HTML, V9, Old). The ones on the main HTML pages here are a trial version with 30 trial runs. Once you purchase the product, you get a replacement set of the html.set and html.psb files licensed to your SIM.
  9. If it's a surface, you may need to turn on the right Rotary Axis rotary substitution mode. and have your post support it.
  10. quote: 2 - The guys knows the answer, but they wouldn´t give it to me because is concerned to 5 axis encrypted math. [Roll Eyes]
  11. Looks like there were some problems over at our ISP and the board was down overnight. How many of you got 'the shakes'? I'll probably do some maintenance in the next hour.
  12. It's up - www.emastercam.com/posts/mpmaster Mpmaster is now a group project - Brett Thomas, Chris McIntosh, and I are all co-collaborators. It's a testing ground for all the core features that are common across our 3/4-Axis posts, and the framework upon which we build our multi-axis posts.
  13. Try to not allow the Work Offset numbering to increment. Keep it at 0 for G54. If you post has a Misc Value to 'lock onto first WCS' then use that. Basically you are getting G54 through G59 then G54.1 P1 and up as the Work Offset value is automatically incremented by Mastercam. The retract is something in the post to do a full retract when the toolplane changes. Mpmaster has a switch ret_on_indx : 1 Machine home retract on rotary index moves, (0 = no, 1 = yes) If using Mpmaster, you'd set that to 0.
  14. If would need to be a custom, application-specific post, like Mpsubrep with angular reps. Mastercam doesn't really support sub repeats, with inc values, like Z for a depth cut. You can take one op, and do a Tranform, Rotate op with subprogram output. Your output will be abs angles with a sub call after each G0G90A0 M98P1100 G0G90A7.2 M98P1100 G0G90A14.4 M98P1100 etc.
  15. Search for the line where the sub numbering gets set: subprogno = progno then you could do subprogno = 1000 * progno + 1 (that would only work for 1 through 9 as you main)
  16. Right now the posts are working out the physical machine angles. At some point, that may be tied to the Machine Def in X (??), but certainly not yet.
  17. In X, I'm seeing that some older posts had logic to avoid neg feedrates (fr = -2 used to mean rapid, fr = -1 used to mean unchanged). So you might have seen if fr > 0, fr I've seen fr$ = -1 values after a rapid move in X. No problems if you post uses fr_pos$ for its feed value, which most newer posts do. Bad news if your post uses fr$ for the feed calc. That means that nothing would be output after the rapid, resulting in a missing first feed. Sound about right? Search for fr$ in your post and see if any logic is tied to it.
  18. We're going to add rotary substitution to our DMG X posts, with 5-Axis M128 output so the datum doesn't need to sit at the centre of the rotary. Give Brett or me a shout.
  19. Face contour isn't a wrapped rotary substitution, so that's not the issue. C-Axis needs to be flipped in your post!
  20. That particular error should be because it's licensed for industrial and dealer SIMs. Let just say that not all Educational SIMs are Educational SIMs. Anyways, I've opened it up to all SIMs styles with the exception of 'Control'. You know, if anyone ever contacts me with install issues, I run GoToAssist, and actually do the install myself... You just need to put the effort into contacting us, rather than putting the effort into bitching about it here. I mean, no time for this product, but plenty of time to continuously slam me... SAIPEM, I'm stepping on a plane to fly down and force you to try the installer.
  21. Totally new Mpmaster is ready for testing... Should be up on the web in a week.
  22. You have a CW/CCW option under the axis rotary settings for the toolpath. You can't really tell in the post which you've selected, so we always say to stick with CW, otherwise it mirrors. If you're set to CW, then you need a post hack for the C-Axis direction.
  23. My low-budget do-it-today solution. Get a small 4-port USB hub and plug in the HASP, and a thumbdrive... Unplug the hub and take it home... Most of the lads here do that just do they don't lose the HASP!!
  24. You know what... Still not fixed. Check back tomorrow... Where's the :shame: Graemlin? [ 02-22-2006, 08:55 AM: Message edited by: Dave Thomson ]
  25. Try Settings, Configuration, Toolpaths, Setup sheet program, GUI. Also, to get your actual lathe tool images in a graphical setup sheet, check out www.emastercam.com/tools/html
