  1. it won't help in the long run, but if you email it to me, i will try to put it up.
  2. spade, not really any different, but try copy/paste?
  3. quote: raising sun cue the claymation ads please.
  4. i've also had this problem at times, but i haven't noticed a pattern. seems more like a random event for me.
  5. thad, both of those folders shown in your screenshot have an icon for selecting viewing style. i personally prefer the 'details' style, but they all will do what you want. for example,if you have just posted the file into a folder and you want to select it for a copy or transfer or whatever, if you choose the details style and click the 'modified' header bar, you should have the most recent file modified at the top of the list and easily found. if you click it again, it will invert the list. or if it would be easier to search by a different method (name, type, size, etc.), then you have those options as well, just by clicking the header bar. also, right click while hovering on the header bar and lots more options are available. mc doesent have the functionality to keep these the way you would like to see them YET, so you have to do it every time (pita). but at least it will allow you to see the files listed in a consistent manner. sorry if this has already been covered.
  6. now i know what you mean, thad. i don't like that either, and i don't know of a way to control it. sometimes i edit the number.
  7. what is interrogate? another way of getting info.? when i analyze, i get 4 places like i have set up in the config.
  8. config/screen/ number of places after decimal for analyze?
  9. that file should be located in common/prm/. is it there?
  10. cnc just called me. it appears that the drivers download errors will continue until a reboot. so, download drivers, reboot, THEN install the drivers. problem fixed. thanks for the help.
  11. mr2s been working fine for a couple weeks. so i uninstalled mr1. now mr2 won't open. keep getting this error. mc9 wont open either. says hasp not found. contacted reseller. had me uninstall mr2, then reinstall. same errors still coming up. downloaded drivers_x.zip from mc webpage. that gets errors too. the problem appears to be directly associated with the hasp or hasp drivers. can the hardware(hasp)be damaged by an uninstall? when i uninstalled mr2, were the (possibly corrupted) drivers still on my harddrive somewhere else and are still causing problems?
  12. if mc has the logic to distinguish colors of back and front of surfaces(wireframe), or normals (wireframe or solid), it seems that distinguishing colors of back and front of surfaces(solid) isn't too far a strech to ask for.
  13. id be glad to respond if i thought i could help with your problem, but have no idea what youre talking about. how about giving some context, or uploading a file. were not sikic man!
  14. elrails, try the solid thing first, but if you can't get that to work, try this. delete all of your current wireframe until you only have surfaces left. then try to isolate the surfaces you want to chain using either levels or colors or whatever. once you have them isolated, your chaining will get much easier. when you create curves all edges/all surfaces, on even a moderately complicated part, you will get way more wireframe than you want. im not saying this is the best way, but i prefer to work with surfaces, and this method works fairly well most of the time. i got used to working with solids on another system and just dont like the way they work with mc.
  15. *guy, i took a looky. everything seems ok here except you may want to enter and exit a little further away from the part(gouges/collisions). also try roll cutter around corners?...none on op2 what exactly were you seeing that you dint like? [ 05-22-2006, 01:47 PM: Message edited by: bellyup ]
  16. i've had many problems with this function in the past, and reported many, but i got tired of sounding like a broken record, so i just grind my teeth and do workarounds. can't say yet for X, but at least as far as v9, they still exist. so after you've checked your chains validity, some things that may work: 1.)squash chain as someone said; 2.)try to eliminate splines. lines and arcs seem to work better; 3.)when possible as a last resort, create a new surface. i can't figure out why one flat, untrimmed surface won't trim to a single line in a flat plane, but create another, and it will trim fine. unfortunately, you cannot recreate more complex surfaces, so that's where this workaround won't help. hth and lots of luck!
  17. you still need to instruct your config to open your customized version, and save it before you reboot.
  18. you can thankfully lock ops from posting, but i would also like to see an option to lock them from backplotting as well, so you don't have to de-select them every time.
  19. just a thought john, but if you turn the ribbon bar help on temporarily, you may be able to get a clue as to what its functions are. edit: sorry , that is the verify toolbar, just not used to seeing it that way.
  20. quote: Anyone else having problems with Windows Media Player taking over machine profiles with *.WMD extensions ? What do you do about it ? i was not having this problem, but try this. open media player, select tools, options, file types, deselect 'windows media file(asf)'. if you look at the description for this file type, it associates with wmd. this should stop wmp from hijacking your files.
  21. i think someone was getting that yesterday, and the fix was turning on the 'display rapid moves' icon in the toolpath options.
  22. thanks chip, right now, i'm thinking that i was hitting the wrong regen key yesterday, but i had already bumped this post. but thanks for the reply.
